    At last, their eyes meet. The sobering, thoughtful blue of Patrick’s gaze is so disarming that it feels like Art is talking to a different person.

     

    Patrick visits Stanford and makes it pretty evident he's there for Tashi more than Art. Art is trying really hard not to care about it.

    He’s reminded, suddenly, of Marta: guilty only of a damaged trellis and a few amateur theatrics. Blanc had known from the beginning that she thought she was guilty, but hadn’t assured her of her innocence until checkmate. He did the same to Jud last night. Would he do the same again if it meant solving a case and bringing a murderer down, or bringing a wronged person justice? He knows he would, but it is not an easy thought.

    In the immidiate aftermath of Martha's confession Jud has a small breakdown. Blanc helps him through it. Written as a companion piece for "Matthew 6:34."
