Summary
Corsair Winchester is the most feared pirate in the Caribbean waters. When he makes it his goal to attack the Pride of Heaven, a massive ship that is part of Port Lawrence's Naval fleet, he finds himself ill-prepared in every way to come face to face with Commodore Castiel Novak, the brother of the man he wishes dead. Dean's a lumberjack, so he chops down a lot of trees. Really, he probably should've expected he'd accidentally chop down a tree with a beehive in it at some point, but nothing could've prepared him for a little fairy dude who demands he build a new hive, and even if by chance he was ready for that, he never would've expected to actually start kind of liking the company. Yeah, definitely just the company, not the fairy himself or anything…

So Dean died. He hadn't been the same since losing Cas. It was going to be better this way. Dean was HAPPILY going to go to heaven and find Cas. Talk to him... He couldn't get Castiel's confession out of his head. Dean FROZE when he confessed. He FROZE. Like a fucking asshole, he said NOTHING. So he thought getting to heaven was enough to FINALLY tell him the truth. To finally admit EVERYTHING...except Cas wasn't there. Jack had decided to give Castiel a second chance at life and have him reborn. Dean not wanting to lose him again, decides to give life one last go.

Castiel watched the archer in green. He was still speaking to his companions behind him as he notched his arrow. When the call of a bugle signaled to shoot, the archer, in one motion, seemingly without any thought, lifted his bow, pulled back the string, and released the arrow. Castiel looked at his target. It seemed he’d struck exactly center.

Omegas aren’t born. Everyone is born either Beta or Alpha (the high majority being Beta), and the only way Omegas are created is if turned by an Alpha in rut. Because of this fear of being turned, Alphas spotted out during their rut are often shot on sight to protect Betas. Castiel befriends a kid named Sam during his final year of high school. Sam is hated and treated like an outcast because his brother is an Alpha, but Cas learns that the brother does all he can to stay locked up during a rut, trying to prevent accidental turnings or his own death.
Unfortunately, since it’s so rare, no one is taught about ‘true mates’ and the fact that a Beta can turn just from the scent of said mate. Castiel wakes up one morning in the hospital, as an Omega, and finds out that the idiot he witnessed hitting on girls (badly) at a random bar… is now his mate.
