Summary
Chris Smith has a lot on his plate: killing bad guys, arguing with his teammates, and most of all, trying not to strangle Adrian Chase.
Vigilante is his partner in crimefighting, his constant shadow: a ninja with way too much enthusiasm and zero sense of personal boundaries.
And yeah, Chris has to admit he’s a damn good fighter (and, okay, kind of cute), but this whole BFF thing? It’s driving him insane.

As if he could ever forget Barbados. The circumstances necessitated a very specific type of cover—the only time Napoleon and Illya had been asked to fake being in a romantic relationship. It had come near the end of UNCLE’s run, which was probably a good thing, even though ultimately it hadn’t actually required much of them. A few casual yet affectionate touches in public, standing close together, some lingering looks. Not that different than how they usually behaved around each other, which, no, he wasn’t going to think too hard about. It had been easy to fall into that mindset, and Napoleon had worried that his careful mask had slipped enough for Illya to glimpse the too-real feelings beneath.
But then, not even a month later, UNCLE had disbanded and it was a moot point. He was never going to see Illya again. Except now he’s staring up at his former partner, being asked to pretend he’s in love again.
(Ten years after UNCLE was disbanded, Illya asks Napoleon with help with a mission that will test their partnership and blur the lines between what is a cover and what's real.)

Summary
Surprisingly, it’s Illya that makes the first move, kissing Napoleon hard in the aftermath of a mission nearly gone wrong. Napoleon kisses back, desperate for Illya’s touch but trying not to make it too obvious. He doesn’t think as Illya pushes him toward his room in their safehouse, doesn’t think as Illya leaves hot kisses down the side of Napoleon’s neck. They fall into bed together, still clothed, still kissing, and still Napoleon isn’t thinking, because the feeling of Illya’s lips on his skin has washed out all his higher thought processes.
He starts thinking again real fast when Illya cups his groin, and they both freeze. Napoleon remembers very quickly why this is such a disastrous idea.
Illya discovers Napoleon is trans, and reacts better than Napoleon ever thought possible.
