He wasn’t! No matter what Georgie would say about him, with that annoyingly fond roll of her eyes. That’s why he was here, at an abandoned house in the middle of the night. Right.
He just had . . . a hunch. And he really didn’t want to deal with the teasing that would come with the admission that yes, Jonathan Sims, famed paranormal skepticist, had had an encounter someone might even call “spooky.”

Agnes Montague was almost used to those sticky tendrils that had been wrapped around her body for so long. Summary
One moment, he was holding Jon’s hand, focusing on that small bit of warmth, and the next, he was alone in the swirling fog.
And he was afraid.
“You know, I never thought someone could be scared of their own domain. . . Though you definitely are a unique circumstance. . .” A voice came through the fog, and he looked around sharply, not seeing anyone. Then the figure stepped through the mist and he relaxed.
Martin stood there, his face placid and calm, green eyes steady even as the wind pulsed through his black locks of hair. The thing that pretended to be Martin let out a sigh, giving him a soft smile.
“Hmm. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised you’re here. . . It is . . . good to see you again.”
