Summary
Neil kept one hand buried in Andrew's hair but finally lowered the other. In quiet German he said, "Did they tell you who I am?"
"They didn't have to. I choked the answers out of Kevin on the way here."
“What did you say?” Neil’s voice is icy and he's certain it sounds every bit like his father. The only thing stopping him from ripping his own tongue out right there and then was the sorry state of his hands.
OR,
Neil comforts Kevin when he finds out Andrew choked him.

Summary
"What the fuck," Kevin whines, out of breath. His hair is a mess from grinding it against Andrew's pillow, fuzzy and sticking to his forehead, and the sight of him makes Andrew want. "Andrew, what the fuck, that was s-so—"
Andrew sucks a bruise harshly on the skin of his inner thigh, trying to leave behind a memory that will last Kevin days, months, years to forget. The brush of his own sweatpants against his hard-on nearly hurts with how sensitive he is, and yet — he cannot find it in himself to ask for anything. When he looks up at Kevin, gasping and panting to the ceiling like he's trying to compose himself, Andrew can't demand anything more of him. He won't.
As in, the one in which Andrew learns that running from nature — and Kevin Day — is a futile effort.

Summary
“And you cared about nothing,” Neil fills in the blanks by himself, forging the unbreakable image of Kevin and Andrew before Neil even knew them. “You wanted to be more like him.”
When Andrew doesn’t answer, Neil continues, “His left hand. He always let you take care of it, too. He trusted you like that. Kevin— Kevin never doubted your ability to be gentle.”
“He was naive,” Andrew grinds his teeth, “and stupid.”
Neil’s response is so automatic he couldn’t have taken it back if he wanted to. “And you loved him for it.”
Alternatively: Kevin's graduation confirms what they already knew — it's always easier to realize you love something after you lose it.

Summary
A reimagining of the aftermath of That Fucking Scene, wherein the Foxes & the Designated Adults actually give a shit, Andrew faces the consequences of his actions, and Kevin copes the best he can (with the advent of his new protection squad). As canon-compliant as it gets in the deep of book 3: The King's Men before I take the inevitable leap. Andrew apologists, back off or read up.

Summary
In retrospect, the deal was what fooled Kevin. That, and Andrew’s stupid, beautiful eyes. There had been a time when Kevin had thought he would fulfill his side of the deal with Exy. There had also been a time when Kevin had thought he would fulfill his side of the deal with himself. He was wrong on both counts.
