Summary
“I’m engaged.”
“Yes, Iwa-chan, I’m aware,” Oikawa responded, trying to keep his annoyance at bay. Because, yes, Iwaizumi was engaged, having stolen Oikawa’s thunder on his own planned engagement evening. It was still constant news on social media while Oikawa’s engagement was not. But moving on.
“I’m engaged. To be married,” Iwaizumi clarified, as if Oikawa didn’t know the definition of engaged. The latter rolled his eyes, “Yes, I know. I thought you knew that as well, given that you were the one who’d proposed and all.”
“I can’t believe I did that,” Iwaizumi said in wonder as he ran his hands through his hair.
“Yeah, me neither,” Oikawa sniped, stealing a piece of chicken from Iwaizumi’s plate.
****
Iwaizumi is dealing with the aftermath of proposing to Atsumu without his brother's blessing with absolutely no help from his friends and a little help from Akaashi.

Summary
“What are you reading?” he asked them, pausing on his way back to the showers.
Atsumu glanced up at him, “Fan fiction.”
“What’s that?” Kageyama furrowed his brow.
“It’s, you know,” Atsumu waved a hand in the air, not taking his eyes off of Hinata’s phone. “When people write fictional stories about celebrities or characters in movies or tv or whatever, really.”
“They make up stories about made up people?” he asked, confused.
“Yeah,” Hinata and Atsumu said in unison, still not looking up from the phone.
...
Kageyama is introduced to fan fiction by some of his teammates and goes down the rabbit hole because of one particular writer who has a lot of stories about him and Oikawa, among other V League athletes. The stories bring up his not so repressed feelings about Oikawa and he tries to (unsuccessfully) resolve them. Meanwhile, Oikawa is working on resolving his feelings for Kageyama in a slightly different way. -

Summary
Oikawa Tooru was a great planner. He was organized and meticulous and paid great attention to detail. That was what made him such a great student in high school and a great setter, both in high school and in the pros. The only problem with this was that he could become a bit…narrow in his focus. He spent so much time and effort focused on whatever he was planning that he could forget to take into account things that could happen outside of his well-laid plans.
...
Oikawa had planned to be a highly successful volleyball player and live the life of his dreams. While he did become a successful volleyball player, he also ended up becoming a single dad to a very sick little girl. When their search for treatment takes them back to Japan, Oikawa reconnects with Kageyama and finds that he still gets the life of his dreams, it just looks a little different than he'd planned

Summary
Keiji had made peace with many things in his life. Deadlines that multiplied like hydrangeas in June. Bokuto’s sudden, unshakable whims. The fact that Tokyo summers were engineered by the gods to remind mortals that air-conditioning was not a right but a privilege.
What he had not made peace with was sitting next to Miya Osamu on a packed train for three hours.
It wasn’t even his choice. He hadn’t been given the dignity of choosing. Atsumu, naturally, had smirked, shoved Osamu sideways with the casual cruelty of a twin who’d had a lifetime to perfect it, and said, “Ya sit with Akaashi. He won’t bite.”
Which was technically true, but at this rate, Keiji was starting to reconsider.

Summary
“Oh. My God.” Iwaizumi looked up from his suitcase to see Dylan, mouth slightly ajar and eyes wide, staring at the photo on Iwaizumi’s desk. “That’s not…is that Oikawa? You’ve met the Club Athletico San Juan setter Tooru Oikawa!?"
"Met him?" he said absentmindedly. "Yeah. Something like that."
Or: Iwaizumi's new roommate is a huge volleyball fan, and an even bigger fan of Oikawa.

Summary
The chopping stops. Her face is unreadable, eyes steady on Tooru. "And what kind of girlfriend does he need?"
"Someone who understands him." Easy answer. "Someone who can keep up with him. Someone who supports him."
Auntie mulls it over. "Those sound like things you do."
Tooru's face flushes. "Well—well, yeah, he's my best friend."
She cocks her head at him, eyebrows raised. "So you want him to get another best friend?"
The visceral rejection of the idea fills him so fast, he's spitting out, "Never," before he even realizes it. Hajime's his best friend. His.
When he sees the amusement on Auntie's face, his flush deepens. "I—I mean," he fumbles, then straightens and crosses his arms, chin tilted up. "I'm irreplaceable, of course. I just mean this girl shouldn't hold him back."
Auntie nods, letting out a drawn out, "Ah." She grabs a potato and halves it. "I see. And you're sure it's a girl?"
"Of course, who else—" Tooru freezes. Wait.
***
OR: Tooru learns he's homophobic, but only when it comes to Hajime.
