Summary
Kim Dokja is just your average, overworked salaryman—buried in deadlines, drained by life.
His only solace comes from a historical novel he’s been obsessively reading. It tells the grand tale of Emperor Yoo Joonghyuk and his cherished Empress Consort Lee Seolhwa, their love blooming through a destined happy ending.
But, there was one character that left an impact in Kim Dokja's heart. The Unfavored Empress.
A title whispered with pity, mockery, or not at all. A figure cast aside by the Emperor, shunned by the court. He wasn’t evil, nor weak—just unwanted. His life reduced to a tragic backdrop, his pain a tool to make the main couple shine. He died quietly, forgotten by the empire and the story alike.
But fate has a twisted sense of humor.
One miserable workday, Kim Dokja gets hit by a rampaging truck. And when he wakes up, it’s not the afterlife that greets him—but silk sheets, gold-lined ceilings.
He has transmigrated.
As him.
As the Unfavored Empress. But Kim Dokja will not die a tragic end. He knows how the story ends—and he refuses to let it end that way.
If he has to defy the Emperor to survive? So be it.
This time, the Empress writes his own story.

Summary
Kim Dokja was an average guy. He was so average it was almost impressive. He had an average appearance, education, weight, height, job, salary, routine, average everything. He liked reading, but that was his only real hobby, and he couldn’t cook to save his life, but other than those minor things, he lived the most normal life to ever normal… at least, that’s what Dokja himself thought.
You see, although Kim Dokja, the self-proclaimed most average person ever, saw himself and his life as entirely usual, he was the only one with that perspective. Because anyone on the outside looking in could see he lived the kind of life that made you want to sit him down and have a coffee just to pick his brain and figure out how he ended up where he did. All because Kim Dokja, the average salaryman, was the Infamous man who was cherished and beloved by the most horrific gang to ever own Seoul’s streets, Kimcom.
Or: The tales of how self-proclaimed most normal man ever, Kim Dokja, is blissfully ignorant of the fact that he's at the center of the Korean mafia and is protected and cherished by criminals day to day.
