Vee doesn’t react to his tone, but the cord connected to her microphone begins to stir beneath them. “Sheesh, what’s got you this riled up today?”
“You always like to pretend you know everything until you don’t, huh?”
Sprout doesn’t realize it at first, but his face is dangerously close to her screen. He sees his reflection in it, and figures she must also see her own in his dimly lit eyes, because she makes the deliberate decision to look away from him as she tries to swallow a smile.
The effort Vee puts into hiding her grin is futile, because she laughs immediately afterwards. It’s quiet, but it’s still the same raspy laugh Sprout is so used to hearing.
He feels his face heat up.

Cosmo snorted. "Confident? Dude, I was terrified my first time. Everyone is." He leaned forward again, nudging Sprout's arm. "But you know what helps? Finding someone you actually trust. You don't have to rush, but you don't have to be scared either."
Sprout was quiet for a long moment, then finally muttered, "That's the problem."
Cosmo frowned. "What is?"
Sprout let out a slow breath, staring down at his drink. "I don't.." there was a long pause.

Summary
Sprout is a vampire with a problem: he’s too modern for his own kind. Kicked out by his traditionalist family for refusing to live in the shadows, Sprout wants something different- normalcy, purpose, and maybe a little bit of sweetness that doesn’t come from blood. So he adapts. No more feeding on humans. No more staying in the shadows. Just a day job, a kitchen, and a quiet life pretending to be human.
Enter Cosmo: Once a vampire hunter-in-training, Cosmo walked away from the legacy his family worshipped- only to be labeled a disgrace. But if he can kill one real vampire, maybe he’ll prove he’s not a failure after all.
So when he meets Sprout who’s perfectly polite, weirdly charming, and very obviously not human- Cosmo knows what he should do. Watch. Wait. Strike.
But nothing about Sprout fits the monster Cosmo was raised to hate. Now Cosmo’s stuck between what he was trained to do... and what he’s starting to feel.

Summary
Connie, in her loss for exhilarating things to do in mundane Gardenview, has a stroke of geniosity: to find Astro a significant other. And Astro, in his escape from ghostly mischief, finds his solace in the kitchen, with someone he grows to think of as more of a partner than any of Connie's suitors.
Ft. Connie and GIgi kind of being assholes half of the time, Cosmo and Looey as wingmen, Shelly and Vee knowing more than they should, a house party, silver ribbons, and one failed run.
