Summary
Windward Research Facility was one of the few places in the world invested in the research and exploration of artificial gods, although Sam was entirely unaware which other facilities were equally as invested in such research. Knowing that was far above his pay-grade, and probably end with him getting executed.
He hadn’t thought it was real at first, until he’d been face to face with one.

An AU where the Numerals and Vessel are artificial Gods created in a lab.

Summary
The mission was simple. The Vessel of Sleep was to either be claimed by Alkaline Agency, or executed. And after countless failed attempts at cooperation, all resulting in the gruesome deaths of previous agents, peace was no longer an option.
Sixteen teams, all lost to the whim of some monster. Four gulped, hoping that, against all odds, the death toll would not raise any higher.
-----------
Or an AU where II, III, and IV are the men in yellow suits from the music video for Alkaline

Summary
Don’t get him wrong: III loved his mates, and Ivy himself wasn’t even that difficult to manage during his heat. He was soft and clingy and instinctive, a far cry from his usually relaxed demeanor, and sometimes would be more emotionally sensitive, but there were three of them there to take care of him. Together they made sure he was healthy and satisfied, always ready to offer food and comfort and a knot (which was III’s favorite part, of course; Ivy during his heat was so eager and always sopping wet enough to take. Even thinking about it for too long left him drooling).
No, it wasn’t Ivy himself that made heat season difficult. It was usually - okay, always Vessel.
---------------
Ivy goes into heat, and his bfs have to help manage it. Too bad Vessel has a bad habit of keeping him to himself.

Summary
At first, it was peaceful. The Vessel felt like he was floating, the outside world distant and quiet, his mind calm and empty.
He could not smell or see or hear where he was, reduced to nothing but sensation and the cloying, metallic taste in his mouth.
He absently remembered the emotions he’d felt before being where he was - fear, pain, anger - but, when he tried to put faces or names to anything specific, he struggled to do so. Eventually, he'd give up, as doing so only made him tired, his mind not capable of absorbing the complexities of a life beyond where he was. It didn’t feel like it mattered very much, anyways.
He curled in on himself, like an unborn fetus, floating in velvety abyss, and his memories were a distant hum in the back of his mind.
This was His promise. To become more than he once was. Nothing could hurt him here. Not anymore.
...
Did... did he always have six limbs? No, that can't be right....
Or Vessel is transformed into something new, and his consorts are here to help him acclimate.

Summary
"No room for hope had he, yet, none the less,
The thick-leaved shadowy-soaring beech-tree grove
Still would he haunt, and there alone, as thus,
To woods and hills pour forth his artless strains.
"Cruel Alexis, heed you naught my songs?
Have you no pity? you'll drive me to my death."-Eclogue II, Virgil's Eclogues

“Speak to me,” he breathes, at last. He begins to hum softly, feeling, reaching out. “Speak to me as the fawns speak to the new grass, as the dew speaks to the thistles. Embrace me in the deep dark as a lover. Hold me as the sky holds the Earth.” He closes his eyes, losing himself in the crashing of the waves below, the gentle breeze that billows his cloak like a caress.

Summary
“Did your old man do that?” The question startled IV, cutting through the loud shouts of the patrons.
It took a moment for him to realize who was even speaking, blinking through his swollen eye as he tried to make out the man who had sidled up next to him. He was older like the rest of them but tall and thin with a cigarette dangling from his lips.
“He’s not my dad.” IV said, staring sullenly at the coaster as he began to rip it up.
“Your boyfriend?” The man's eyebrow quirked as he took a drink of a beer, pale blue eyes watching him from over the top of the glass.
