A couple of tiny glowing fish came over to him, inspecting him. Neteyam watched them, unmoving. His stillness encouraged the little creatures to inch closer, one coming to rest against his nose. Neteyam realized they were the seeds of Eywa - only here, they did not float. Neteyam smiled softly, extending one of his arms, palm facing up. One of the seeds swam into his hand, resting comfortably. Ao'nung slowly sank down to his knees as well, brows furrowed in an unpleasant glare before bubbles escaped his lips in surprise at the sight in front of him. Neteyam glanced his way for a mere second before turning back to Eywa's little creations, watching as they circled his waist before finally swimming away.

Summary
The Metkayina are a perceptive people; they watch with greater focus than the Omatikaya or humans. They pay attention to small nuances in both the people and their surroundings. They understand the water and it's creatures because they grow up taking in information most people might not even notice.
To them Spider is new and strange; so they watch him. They worry that he will be cruel, set their Maruis on fire, or attack their ilu. What they find out is that this boy is actually quite intelligent, tireless, and always trying to help; a promising young warrior. He does more chores in the village than any other youth. He seeks to not hold a weapon and is always around when more help is needed. He gathers, weaves, and hunts for the clan. He provides.
But he is also clearly very lonely. He cares for others- but no one cares for him. The Sullies are not his family, so... The boy is free to join another? Right? And who wouldn't want another child, especially such a mentally strong one.

Summary
Bonding with the Toruk had…side effects, Norm had told him once Spider came to ask, especially for Jake, who was in an Avatar body and lacked the experience in tsaheylu other Na’vi had. His mind was- well, not exactly weaker, but it was different. More open to influences once a bond was made. Influences that changed Jake, made him act different sometimes.
OR
After connecting to Toruk in the first movie, Jake ended up with some of his characteristics. Mainly manifesting in bursts of "moods" in which Jake reverts to more primal, animalistic instincts causing him to mostly want to stay home and cuddle his family.
Spider learns the hard way that he, too, is a Sully.

When Neteyam kissed the open cut on his eyebrow, Lo'ak made a low hum and opened his glossy, droopy eyes.
"Still hurt?" Neteyam's eyes shined down at him. His pupils seemed to be bigger now. Lo'ak distantly wondered if he was the cause of that but squashed it down.
"Yeah, a little bit." Lo'ak then paused for a moment in thought. Ah, should he bring it up? The 'kiss it better' thing they used to do, or would that be too childish? "Does yours still hurt?" Lo'ak asked quietly in reference to all of Neteyam's own wounds which still have yet to heal.
"Yeah."
Oh, screw it, why not.
"Want me to kiss them better?"

Lo'ak and Neteyam are stuck dealing with the aftermath of their fight with the chief's son. Both are bruised and badly aching but still tend to each other's wounds with some bandages and alcohol... and maybe some kissing.
