He wakes up to Wylan tapping silent melodies against the ridges of his ribs, over the apex of his heart.
“Are you composing on me again?” Jesper asks groggily, in lieu of good morning. He cracks one eye open, squinting against the shock of early light. Wylan just hums distractedly in vague affirmation. It has a sweet, melodic tone to it that Jesper would bet a not insignificant amount of kruge on being in the key of whatever song Wylan is still playing on his torso.

Summary
It’s a funny thought: the house beside the old jurda farm as home. It isn’t, really. It hasn’t been for a long, long time. Home became, at some point, his room above the Crow Club, where he could hear Kaz pacing around his office at night above him and the rowdy, boisterous noise from the club below. Home became his and Wylan’s shared room at the Slat. The one with the paint chipped walls and the leaky pipes and the brassy, artless key Wylan still wears around his neck, long after they’ve moved out. And after, slowly but surely, it became the Van Eck mansion; all the towered ceilings and too many rooms of it.
But the farm will always be home to him too, he supposes. The way the place you grew up will always be.
Or, a series of happenings at the Fahey family farm, one year post-Crooked Kingdom.

Summary
He chooses everyday to be himself anyway, even if sometimes he isn’t quite sure yet what that means.
Tonight it means letting Jesper spirit him away for a date, the location of which is a mystery that Wylan is nowhere near as put out by having to wait to find out as he pretends to be. It means his hair is long enough to curl like his mother’s and his suit is at least three shades too close to blue to be considered appropriately mercher black. It means he’s wearing pearl earrings one of Jesper's rings and maybe a little bit of makeup. His father would hate all of that, and Wylan chooses to believe that it doesn't matter, that he doesn’t give a single one of Kerch’s three flying fish what his father thinks and never will again.
Date night, or the precursor to it. Jesper has certain thoughts about punctuality and surprises, and Wylan has thoughts about Jesper.

And yet, in the Kelvin Timeline, Spock experienced no telepathic backlash whatsoever when 6 billion Vulcans were wiped out of existence along with their home planet. This story, set in the TOS universe, reimagines the destruction of Vulcan and the far-reaching repercussions this kind of loss might have.

When Spock's mother played the new piano for the first time, he found himself strangely drawn to it. He peered inside at the obscenely bared viscera under the raised lid, wondered at the way the hammers danced and the strings shook. Then, he curled his fingers over the edge of the open instrument, and suddenly he knew the truth.
It was not just the strings; the whole instrument vibrated. And when he touched it, the vibration rattled in his own bones. Sympathetic resonance.
And he thought to himself, almost nonsensically: Only something human could thrum like this.
