When James Bond goes missing and is presumed dead yet again, the only person MI6 deems suitable to take his place is the man responsible for planning all of his outstanding missions: Q. Entirely against his will, Q finds himself thrown into active service as the new 007. Much to everyone's surprise, not least Q's, he turns out to be a natural. He might even be a better 007 than Bond ever was.

“Swimming’s not something you can learn from a book,” Bones asserted gruffly. “And if you do it wrong, you might drown.”
“Thank you for what I take is concern, Doctor, however I’m sure I’ll be fine,” Spock maintained. He cocked an eyebrow. “Unless you happen to know any nearby swim instructors.”
“Forget that.” Jim stood up. He faced Spock and placed his hands on Spock’s shoulders. “I’m going to teach you how to swim.”It was as if The Enterprise was suspended in space along with everything in it: the Bridge’s activity ceased as all eyes turned towards Spock and Jim, stunned by the Captain’s proposal—and frozen still in waiting for the Vulcan’s response.

Dean Winchester’s been camp manager of a science research station on the Alaskan tundra for thirteen years. Dean likes his job; fixing the camp trucks, troubleshooting the generators, keeping clueless undergrads and NSF bigwigs from walking into grizzly bears or getting lost in snowstorms — it’s all in a day’s work. It keeps him pretty busy, and this year his brother Sam's visiting too, so he's even busier. So it’s really not any of Dean’s business when some weirdo antisocial ornithologist sets up a tent a few miles away, a dark-haired blue-eyed guy who’s doing a “very long-term" study on birds or wings or something, and who never, ever takes off his big lumpy backpack. But then the new guy starts dropping by camp for coffee and... well, he’s not officially part of camp; he's not Dean’s responsibility; he’s really not Dean’s problem at all, but when a strange blizzard comes sweeping in, Dean gets worried and goes to check. Thing is, Dean's spent years in the sweeping vistas of the Arctic. He knows all about the midnight sun and the northern lights, the ice caves and avalanches, the rough-and-ready Haul Road truckers and the even rougher-and-readier wild animals. But even so, what he finds is much more than he bargained for.

There’s almost a hypnotic pull as Michael watches Liz speak, the way her lips move, full and pouty. His eyes drop to the blouse she’s wearing, neckline showing a sliver of cleavage. She’s got a nice body, Liz. It’s something he’s been aware of in a purely abstract, aesthetic sense since they were teenagers. By the time Michael was old enough to even notice such things about other people, Liz Ortecho had already been firmly classified in his mind as “Max’s pathetic crush”, and nowadays he thinks of her as his sister-in-law, even if it’s not quite official.
Which begs the question, why the fuck is he staring at her chest right now? Why did his brain, even fleetingly, wonder what the skin at the edge of her collarbone might taste like, what it would feel like to pull her in by the waist, all the curves of her pressing against the lines of his own body? Hers isn’t the body he’s supposed to want to touch. He has Alex for that.
Liz and Michael are dosed with a mysterious alien aphrodisiac. Can they resist the allure of one another while they wait for Max and Alex to arrive?
