Rumi crawled into the nest before drawing her knees up to her chest and wrapping her arms tight around herself while the toy lay there sinfully among the fabrics, mocking her with its presence. She wouldn’t use it. No way. The embarrassment still burned hot in her veins—how could they hand her that thing like it was no big deal?
Minutes stretched into what felt like hours. The room grew warmer, or maybe it was just her—but the heat coiled tighter, making her shift uncomfortably. Her eyes kept drifting to that cursed toy, curiosity gnawing at her.
What harm could looking do? Just… looking.
With a frustrated huff, Rumi took it into her hands. The surface was smooth, almost silky, and when her fingers brushed over the swirls, they began to glow softly as if responding to her touch. A shiver ran down her spine, mirroring the glow of the patterns dancing across her skin. She held it closer, examining the entrance—the spot designed for… well, for her. It looked tempting, and before she could talk herself out of it, she had already begun dipping two fingers inside.
Or, Mira and Zoey give Rumi something to help her with her heat, but little did she know, Mira felt everything.

Summary
Rumi considered it—she normally gave in quickly—but the way she’d looked at her before she kissed her neck, and the way she’d reacted to Rumi threatening to leave and finish herself off, was echoing around her brain. She was forming a theory, and she needed to test it.
She hooked a finger under Mira’s choker, pressing her knuckle gently against her throat, and tugged. She felt more than heard the way it made Mira’s breath hitch. She did it again, and this time Mira’s nails dug in deeper involuntarily.
Which was a very interesting reaction.
While Zoey's away Mira learns something new about Rumi.

Water runs as she turns the handle of the faucet, palms cupping together to gather water and splash on her face. Rumi breathes in deeply as she takes a moment to calm down. She’s patting her face dry when she feels it—a weight in her core, something there… between her legs where just a moment ago there was nothing.
“Don’t tell me…” Rumi starts as she stares at her crotch, confusion and a hint of trepidation washing over her as she looks at the seam of her pants like it’s going to sprout a demon mouth and eat her face. Her hand fumbles for her phone, fingers tapping erratically until the calendar app opens up. Her eyes scan the rows of weeks before settling on the notification of their vacation day. Her mouth moves silently, counting the days of the last full moon.
And then Rumi stops, eyes shaking as they hone in on today’s date. The full moon began at midnight.
She squeezes her eyes shut, stifling a groan as she comes to a realization.

Zoey summons more knives on each hand, arms outstretched on both sides. The sound of them materializing snaps Rumi’s attention back to her opponent. Zoey has that familiar determined look on her face. Grinning, she swings both arms forward, throwing all six knives with a force fierce enough to cut through the air itself.
Rumi squints her eyes at the oncoming volley—
And catches sight at a flash of skin behind Zoey. In the far back, against the wall, Mira lifts the hem of her shirt and pulls the garment over her head. She gives her head a little shake to settle the hair that was ruffled by the shirt’s collar dragging through it, then tosses the shirt on the nearby bench.
Between the hems of her sports bra and training pants, Mira’s skin glistens from the dampness of her sweat, highlighting the contours of her toned abdomen—and it should be embarrassing that Rumi can pick up on that of all things, 20 feet away from her. In the face of a volley of knives that might just send her into the afterlife.
Or: In the process of writing their next title track, Rumi happens upon Zoey and Mira having sex in the recording studio. Something shifts.

Mira marches like she’s on a mission, slow and methodical until she has Rumi’s back against the mirror wall.
Their height difference is noticeable now, and Rumi has to crane her neck back to look Mira square in the eye. She almost drowns in those simmering pools of dark black, a whimper twisting on her lips before it dives headfirst.
“Did you know… that you’re so damn pretty in these sleeveless shirts?” Mira’s voice is low and seductive, a hint of a growl present as she traces a fingertip along Rumi’s shoulder. The touch is warm, so warm, and it feels like pure electricity as Mira trails that finger along her collar, brushing up and down the bare skin of her neck before it settles right on her sternum. Mira taps her chest lightly but it might as well have felt like a blow of a hammer on her skin. She craves the touch of it, and the thought makes Rumi flush, unfamiliar with asking for such physical affection.
Rumi’s voice quivers as she answers, “R-Really…?”
