Summary
Madara frowned as he came out of his hide warily to approach the place where he sensed the disturbance, Izuna still sticking close to his side. “What in Amaterasu’s name?” he muttered as he noticed the light bending unnaturally at the place he felt the anomaly.
It was as if the nature of the chakra was different, wrong, and it disturbed the natural energy surrounding it, making every alarm in Madara’s brain scream.
This wasn’t right, and the Uchiha clan head was about to take a step back when Izuna reached out to touch the strange phenomenon, his eyes wide and gleaming with wonder.“Izuna, wait-!” he has barely the time to blurt out the words that a burst of energy erupts from the anomaly, pulling in Izuna and Madara as the latter caught the other’s arm.
And, everything went black.

Day seven: Sci fi AU
The room was quiet.
The place he had shared with the man he loves, empty and stripped of what made it home was the same as before, except for the lack of the other’s presence.
Hashirama looked straight ahead, not sparing a glance to his plants, his precious bonsais he enjoyed taking care of, or the papers and blueprints laying around in a way he never understood yet his lover had always got around, claiming proudly that it was his way to organise, or the charcoal drawings he had hung on the walls despite his partner’s embarrassed objections because they were too pretty to hide.

The Uchiha bonfires were truly something else, Hashirama mused, his eyes following Madara’s form.
A true dance, one where he gracefully landed only for an instant before launching himself back in the air methodically, his steps controlled, no movement wasted.

“So, what are you looking for?”
“I trust you.” Madara said, finally looking at her, her warm obsidian eyes meeting Hashirama’s amber ones “What would you want, if it were for you?”
Hashirama’s heart tightened at the thought, and she felt heat rising to her face “Uh… I guess I’d love if someone got me lilies of the valley.”
“It’s classic, and some might say childish, but I personally like them a lot.” Hashirama explained, allowing herself to forget for an instant the thought of Madara dating someone “They represent purity, and it’s probably a safe choice for a first date.”

Hahsirama is dying.
He doesn’t regret his choice.
He reaches towards the corpse, towards the face he doesn’t want to see unless it’s lit up with life.
His hand falls short.
Hashirama slumps over in the river, vision blurring as the darkness closes in. He barely brushes Madara’s mantle before he fades.
The God of Shinobi, dead by his own hand.
Hashirama doesn’t wake with a gasp, but with a slow sluggish headache. His heart pounds an unsteady rhythm in his chest and he’s confused about where he is. This isn’t the river–he’s dry and in a futon. It’s not the Pure Lands–surely there’d be no head to ache this badly in the afterlife.
Hashirama blinks and raises his head. He’s in his own room. This is his and Mito’s bed. Her side is empty, perfectly pressed with not a single wrinkle. He’s…not dead.

Madara's number is sitting so innocently on his screen, his name still adorned with the same flowers and hearts. Now he was starting to see why Madara had thought he was exaggerating with emojis in contact names.
