“Who knows the Emperor’s mind better than his wife?” Csevet asked. She looked up at that to fix him with a pointed look, and he flushed slightly. “Well. That would be a whole other degree of scandal. They will accept thee, Csethiro. It is not permanent; they need only recognize thee as speaking for the Emperor until he is recovered.”
“Thou’lt help?” she asked him, a pleading note in her voice.
He only gave her a small smile again, as if he had an idea of what she was thinking. “Of course, Highness.”Maia is incapacitated for several weeks after being poisoned. Csethiro, with Csevet’s aid, keeps the Empire running while he recovers.

He’s handsome, Zuko finds himself thinking. The thought startles him. It stirs an ancient part of his soul that he didn’t know worked anymore, causing his pulse to quicken and his mind to spin.
Now you’re staring, he berates himself. But he finds it harder than he’d expected to look away.

Summary
Alastor looks downward, finding Lucifer padding into the room wearing the form of a cat.
And as Alastor beholds his love in this small and non-threatening form (not that he’s very threatening as an angel, of course), he can’t help but wonder…
Lucifer’s jaw stretches wide as he yawns, kicking the door closed with a back paw, before shaking out his fur and getting ready to-
“Don’t change back.” The words are out before Alastor can stop them, causing him to wince. Fool, fool, fool.
Lucifer halts, looking up at Alastor with an odd expression, his head tilted on its side as he sits.

Summary
Every muscle goes tense as her golden head droops onto his shoulder, her downy hair a perfect pillow, her expression soft and relaxed.
Alastor’s eyes go wide, his mouth parting as he hisses in a breath- and then he freezes.
He does not like physical contact. Doesn’t enjoy the sensation of hands touching his form, doesn’t like the intrusion upon his personal space, the violation that a hand on a back provides, the prickle that a pat on the shoulder brings.
But this- somehow this is different.
Or: Charlie falls asleep on Alastor’s shoulder.
