Summary
Yasunari thought about Natsusa, not consciously, really. He just couldn’t help it. Couldn’t help but think of his determined eyes when he gave advice during training, the teasing and fakely innocent tone of his voice when he was riling one of the team members up. He could almost feel the phantom touch of Natsusa’s hands on his hips, his back. Natsusa’s breath against his neck, his serious voice, honest in a way he had never heard before, praising him.

The grip on Yasunari’s shirt loosened and Natsusa started smoothing his hands down Yasunari’s arms, over his firm biceps, his elbows, down to his wrists, Natsusa’s eyes following the movement before moving up, levelling Yasunari again.

“So,” Buck says, head spinning. He’s really feeling the alcohol now. They definitely should have eaten something before drinking. “No women.”
Eddie fumbles as he sets the bottle down on his bedside table. “No women.”
“What about men?” Buck blurts, which is—crazy, because again: neither of them are gay.
They’re just two straight guys. Two straight guys in Eddie’s bed, tipsy, and—and Eddie doesn’t want to sleep with women. Which means nothing.
Beside him, Eddie goes preternaturally still. “I would know, if I—you know.”
“Okay.” Buck’s hands twitch at his sides. “I—yeah. Me too.”
Then, very seriously, Eddie turns to look at him. “If I were gay, you would be my first call.”
Warmth blooms in Buck’s chest. Eddie’s so nice to him. “Dude,” he says, touched. “You’d be my first call too.”

“Aren’t you gonna tell me all about the Mississippi river?” Eddie asks, his voice thick with warmth, almost tender.
Buck narrows his eyes. “Do you wanna hear facts about the river?”
“Buck, if you have things to say, I want to hear them.”
The sun doesn’t break through the clouds, but it’s like the sky brightens, for just a moment, burnishing highlights in Eddie’s hair and finding new flecks of color in his eyes. Buck feels heat travel down the back of his neck.

His feelings however were mostly summed up in his head whenever he laid eyes on Charles as, big handsome strong kind caring, and then maybe a smattering of, dangerous killer ruthless criminal. But, none of those latter things were ever purported to be negative, just a simple fact of how they lived.
It wasn’t new at all to look at a man and feel like something was pulling him deep in the gut. Usually it was pretty, almost dainty men he’d catch out the corner of his eye while he was drinking in a saloon. Once or twice those looks had led into alleys and Arthur had, for the most part, never encountered any sort of violence in those encounters. Luckily. But they often felt...Off.
