“Just saying, if you’re taking another hit, you should share it with me,” Mike says, and Will slowly tilts his head, drinking in every word. “It just makes sense. Like, mathematically.”
Will’s reddened eyes narrow, bewildered. “Mathematically?”
“If there’s two hits left, we’d each only get one,” Mike explains. “But if we shotgunned, we’d both get two.” God, this is the best idea he’s had in ages. He should’ve stolen Will’s weed, like, months ago. “That’s like, bang for your buck. This is simple math, Will Byers. Keep up.”
In which it’s well past midnight in New York, Will can’t sleep, and Mike feels like they barely know each other anymore.
So, they get a little high. Mike is very normal about all of it.

Summary
Their eyes locked mid-scream. Mike tripped on a wire, swearing loudly into the microphone, but the crowd just laughed. Then, something feral took over. During the bridge of their next song, as Lucas tore into a feedback-drenched solo, Mike prowled like a jungle cat to the edge of the stage. He sank to his knees, now eye-level with Will. Will’s heart hammered in his chest as he watched Mike take the mic with both hands, face mere inches from Will’s, before he roared the next verse into the space between them. Will could feel the heat of his breath, see the tremor in his jaw. Will didn’t blink, didn’t move, didn’t breathe. He just took it all.
OR: Mike is in a punk band, Will works in the bar where they play.

Summary
“What?” Derek breathes, and the glint in his eye that Mike had mistaken for mischief looks a lot more like panic now. “Are you kidding me—I swear I'm like, the only one who gives a shit about Holly.”
Mike’s eyebrows rise high on his head. Maybe this kid is annoying, but sometimes annoying people just…have to be that way, for their own reasons. And there are many good reasons.
aka holly's missing, and her friends are determined to find her and bring her home. one person in her friend group in particular is more passionate than the others about finding her, and soon mike finds out why that is. and why he felt so different about will to his other friends when he was a kid.

Summary
Will’s expression smoothes out then, and he’s looking at Mike in consideration, like he sees him in all the ways Mike does not want to be seen.
“You were jealous,” Will offers it like it’s a fact, simple as that, and Mike nearly doubles over with the shock of it, an immediate blow to whatever unbothered facade he’d been attempting to put on for Will.
“Was not,” but his voice is so weak that he nearly collapses in embarrassment, an omission of guilt clear as day.
Mike is in love with Will. He tries very hard to love him quietly.
