Summary
Dazai was expecting anger. He had steeled himself to endure the beating of a life time. He was ready to bleed, to suffer and then explain. He was ready for anything, he thought.
But Chuuya's empty stare and confused expression cleared the brunette’s mind of all that he has planned to say. It truly seemed that the redhead had never expected for this moment to come.
This Chuuya was so painfully unfamiliar to Dazai that it made their separation all so much more apparent.
The silence stretched and Chuuya only seemed to slip back into his mind again. Dazai felt choked with concern. Since when had the firecracker of a person ever been silent with Dazai.
Since when could Dazai no longer predict what the redhead would do? He was so sure that the smaller man would scream, maybe even cry if he truly was upset. But the silence was never a possibility to Dazai.
Chuuya’s eyes seemed..scared.
AKA, Dazai comes back and severely underestimated the damage of him leaving chuuya behind.

Summary
There’s lots of things Dazai didn’t believe in.
Ghosts, for one. Surely if they existed, he’d be one of the most haunted people on the planet. Aliens. It wasn’t so much that he didn’t think they could exist, probably not in the way humans thought they did — he just didn’t really care enough.
On the flip side, there were other things he did believe in when it came down to it. Simple truths.
In any case, Dazai woke up that morning to an unremarkable world. At 24 seconds into 11:03pm, he had the inexplicable, unexplainable and infuriating feeling that Chuuya had done something incredibly stupid.
Or
Chuuya gets sick without explanation. It digs up some old memories.

Summary
One letter stood between ‘forgive’ and ‘forget’. If Chuuya couldn’t find a way to forgive then…
Just one letter. One letter was too many.
Paper can’t choose. It’s useful, then it’s not, and it’s discarded. What business did a dead man have contacting Chuuya? Dazai couldn’t afford to stay out of the picture if that man’s words were trying to re-enter it, so the only way of getting rid of that letter would be for Chuuya to get rid of it.
Was it kind? No. It was cruel. But Dazai was cruel.
Chuuya always found peace in forgiveness. So what would happen if he ever found himself unable to grant it?
A letter from a dead scientist, addressed to Chuuya, finds its way to its intended recipient. Dazai can’t stand to see the effect the letter has on his partner, and seeks to correct the situation with his own hands.
By any means necessary.

Summary
A series of vignettes in chronological order filling in the gaps in the story between Storm Bringer and Dark Era from the POV of Soukoku. This story follows Dazai and Chuuya as they navigate their relationship and their work with the Port Mafia post-SB, through Dazai meeting Odasaku ("The Day I Picked Up Dazai"), Odasaku's death and Dazai's betrayal of the Port Mafia...and Chuuya's reactions to it all. I was mainly inspired by the official art showing Dazai and Oda with Chuuya on the outside of the pair looking sad, and Asagiri-sensei's words in the afterword of "Storm Bringer" about leaving Chuuya's fate and reactions to the imagination of the reader. Well, this is my imagination running wild and it is my gift to you. Enjoy the pain!
