Summary
The silence is getting uncomfortable in Ash’s position. He looks at Goh’s face, and if he could, he would snap a photo of it because he has never seen Goh so shocked before, but he hopes Rotom Dex is taking a lot of photos right now hidden behind the trees.
Ash smiles to himself as he puts his free hand over Goh’s one that is still resting over his cheek. It seems to snap Goh back to reality, because he meets Ash’s gaze again, the setting sun illuminating in his teary eyes. Ash has never seen them shine so bright before like now in this beautiful moment.
Some tears still escape Goh’s eyes, and neither Goh nor Ash do anything to stop them, because they both know they are happy tears. Goh’s a mess right now, but he doesn’t care. He’s been waiting for this moment for such a long time. So has Ash. And Goh knows the next word he will utter will change their lives forever.

Summary
Five years have passed since Ash and Goh parted ways. Ash has become a legendary trainer, holding both the World Champion title as well as the Kanto Championship. Meanwhile, Goh was left to pick up the pieces.
Though Goh was left devastated and bitter at Ash leaving him, he quickly began training as a Pokémon Professor. Now, assuming temporary control of Cerise Laboratories, he has finally begun work on his greatest project: The Pokémon Translation device. A device that could allow trainers and Pokémon to finally communicate with each other. Hiccups during production, however, have made him desperate. Few know Pokémon better than Ash Ketchum himself, and Goh will need the man's help if he ever hopes to get his project off the ground.
Though their relationship may finally begin to be mended, a sinister force lurks in the shadows. Wild Pokémon around the world have started to rampage uncontrollably. Can Ash and Goh put their differences aside to solve the crisis? Or is the road ahead forever tainted?
The future was always supposed to be in their hands, after all.

After being rescued from the countless bullying he had endured throughout his life, Goh was eternally thankful and looked up to his hero. Growing up together was equally the best and worst thing to happen. On one hand, he had a lifelong friend that would defend him in his time of need. The other, he wanted something more from it, as he grew feelings for his friend after spending years upon years together. But would his friend even reciprocate the feelings, let alone continue their friendship out of discomfort? Or are the feelings actually mutual, and his friend wants more as well?
