    Deep in his heart, Katsuki knows he will never be the number 1 hero. Not even if Izuku loses the One for All. Not after this.

    TL;DR - An exploration of a post-Heroes Rising AU where Bakugo becomes the next successor of the One for All, and Midoriya is quirkless again.

    EDIT: this fic was completed in Mar/Apr2021, but due to current manga events, I wanted to offer this fic back into front-page circulation.

    While the rest of the Bat-fam is wary of Jason's (second) return, Dick is quietly thrilled when Jason appeared like an apparition after disappearing for years. They had all expected him to come back the way he had been before - fists swinging and guns blazing - only to appear two years later with an entirely different agenda none of them had expected: to avoid the hell out of the Bats and go about his ways as a crime lord.

    Well. That seemed to be the case for a while. But now Dick is in a bit of a pickle. Because out of the blue, Jason has become hell bent on getting him out of Gotham - going so far as to threaten his life. But what Dick can't understand is why him?

    Dick was a walking danger magnet with a charming smile. Jason always knew that.

    And this particular magnet just so happened to share blood relations with one of the most vicious, albeit dead Talons in the history of Gotham: William Cobb. But it turns out being dead wasn't enough to stop the Court of Owls, and the myth of Gotham City is on a hunt for that familial blood. Jason just needs to find a way to keep Dick out of Gotham and out of sight from the Court of Owls. That turns out to be more trouble that he anticipated.

    Wally gets a babysitting gig from an old friend.

    Dick crouches to be at Damian’s eye level, and his voice suddenly takes on a brisk tone, one Wally associates so strongly with being assigned patrol routes that he twitches. “Wally, this is Damian, Damian, this is Wally. Wally is one of my very best friends. He is very important to me. You aren't going to stab him. This isn’t a debate,” Dick says, when Damian raises an eyebrow, “Or a rule. You can’t physically do it. He is much faster than you.”
    “I know what his powers are,” Damian says, sounding annoyed, and also like he considers them to be a fun challenge.
    “I would like it to be a rule,” Wally volunteers.

    "Who’s the last person who saw him?" Jason asks Tim. "Did you talk to D- the kid? Nightwing never does anything without talking to him, what’d he say?”
    There’s a sudden, nervous silence.
    “Hey,” Jason says, dangerously, “Where is the kid?”
    “Hm,” Tim says. “He’s- in school -,”
    “On a Saturday? In July?” Tim makes a sound like a chipmunk in a trash compactor. “Tim, did you fuckin’ forget about the baby? Do not hang up on me-”
    “Don’t real name me at work!” Tim squawks, panicked, and hangs up.

Someone that came into Gotham out of nowhere and immediately carved out a piece of Black Mask's territories for himself, establishing himself almost immediately as someone to be respected. By all accounts, he's highly skilled, efficient, and incredibly dangerous. And no one has any idea who he is.

    A Bark Worse than His Bite by Skalidra
    JayDick identity porn (RH classic stuff) but here Jason is mostly chill and has no beef with the Bats, especially Nightwing. Both POV, Dick’s trying to figure out a mystery and is smart enough to do that with some time; Jason is smart enough to know that and cover his tracks. Both are hoping to make the other see ‘the right way’.
