Summary
[A hand knocks on a hotel door of the Carlyle Hotel. Ilya Rozanov answers the door in only a towel that’s slung low across his waist, his hair damp from a shower. He crosses his arms and leans against the door frame, a lazy smirk on his face.]
Ilya: Well, hello.
Shane: Ilya, what are you–
[A robed Shane Hollander appears behind his husband, and when he sees the camera crew in front of him, he rolls his eyes and lightly hits Ilya’s arm.]
Shane: Hi there. Ignore him please. Come in.
[A series of shots are shown of the two men in their hotel room. Shane laughs at something Ilya says while Ilya pours them a generous serving of vodka. Someone massaging Shane’s hands as he’s given a manicure. Ilya doing push-ups on the floor. A steamer working over a garment with a gold gilded pattern. The video eventually settles back on the two men, both now robed, sitting beside each other on a couch.]
Shane: Hi Vogue, I’m Shane Hollander.
Ilya: And I’m Ilya Rozanov.
Shane: And you’re going to get ready with us for the Met Gala.

METROS MANAGEMENT UNHAPPY WITH CAPTAIN’S CHARITY WORK
Rumours are swirling that the Montreal Metros front office are pressuring team captain, Shane Hollander, to withdraw from the charity he recently founded with Boston Raiders captain, Ilya Rozanov. Sources close to the Metros, who have asked not to be named due to fears of retaliation, report that Metros management are unhappy that Hollander launched his own charity instead of channeling his efforts into official Metros charity projects. The Metros PR team declined to comment when approached for this article.

Summary
Shane was tired.
It had only been two months since he joined the Centaurs, he shows up to practice and it's like a switch turns on where he just pretends.
Pretends he likes Boodram's ideas for Shane-inclusive barbecue food, which just makes him feel different and needy because he's the only one in their team who's this rigid. Pretends that he likes Hayes’ teasing about his awkward habits in front of everyone else, which pisses him off, coming from the guy who brings up Green Lantern comics every other practice. Pretends he likes Harris asking him excited questions about his relationship with Ilya, if the topic doesn't still make him want to rip off his skin. Pretends his life and career weren't uprooted exactly how he feared— leaving him in a shitty team.
Or: Shane wasn't prepared for every aspect of his life to be uprooted the moment his relationship with Ilya went public. He is happy, he thinks, but adjusting to team dynamics, moving away from Montreal, living with Ilya and Anya is prove to be perfect storm for burnout.

Summary
Nothing could have prepared Brandon Wiebe for the conversation he was about to have.
He was, for the first time in NHL history, about to have Hollander and Rozanov in the same locker room. As permanent teammates, not just a one-off marketing stunt. He didn't know if he was about to see fireworks or a massive explosion, but regardless, he was definitely sitting on a powder keg. He may have been the only coach in the entire league who was willing to take that risk. He wondered vaguely whether he was about to get burned. Or how badly.
Or
Coach Wiebe tries to have a discussion with his captain and his new player about their former rivalry. It doesn't go how he expects.

Summary
Shane Hollander only meant to survive the night without making headlines. Ilya Rozanov meant to own every second of it.
When a Met Gala invitation lands in their world of carefully controlled image management and hockey-driven public scrutiny, it feels like a mistake, until it doesn't. Thrown into the glittering chaos of New York’s most unhinged fashion night, Shane tries to stay composed, distant, and invisible in the only way a man dressed in custom couture possibly can. Ilya, on the other hand, treats it like a stage he was born to dominate, but nothing stays “just an appearance” for long.
Between matching outfits that scream sun and moon energy, hands that linger too long in front of cameras, and a red carpet moment that absolutely no one agrees to keep private, the carefully maintained line between PR strategy and something far more real starts to dissolve. Inside the gala, Shane finds himself overwhelmed by attention he can’t control—until Ilya pulls him back, grounding him in ways no press room ever could. And when the night finally ends, there’s no return to pretending.
Because now the world saw them in the way they saw each other.
