Contrary to what most people assume, Steve likes the twenty-first century. Aside from that, Steve thinks he’s done OK adapting to this new world, and is nowhere near as old fashioned as most think. Except for one thing, a secret longing he’s had from back when he was poor, small and seldom given a second glance; having a professional matchmaker help him find his dreamed for omega, a partner to share den with and who would invite him into their Nest. But they no longer exist. Or so he thinks. Until a stroke of good fortune brings him into contact with Judith Bergmann, who introduces him to an omega named Bucky Barnes.
Told in five parts, what follows is a slow courtship filled with plenty of obstacles, and threats big and small, but also letters, food, laughter, pedicures, lace panties, Pop Tarts, Steve displaying his colors, two ball busting dogs, a feline terrorist, and most importantly, love.

Seventy-two seconds.
For all the radars and satellites and early warning systems, the Earth had seventy-two seconds between the appearance of the alien ships and the first bomb that hit the ground. Barely over a minute, just enough time to wonder if it was real or reach for the phone. Simultaneously, the sky above eighty-one metropolitan areas brightened and a whistling sound was heard followed by a thump-whoosh-rattle as the device passed through the atmosphere. For most, the shattering of glass and rending of metal was their first indication something was wrong and, by then, it was too late. The dark cylinders slammed into buildings, fell on roads, and smashed onto houses with concussive force, blowing out windows and sending a shock wave hurtling outward.
An alien invasion/post-apocalyptic/end-of-the-world big AU with three pairings: Clint/Coulson, Tony/Bucky, and Natasha/Pepper. The story is told through Clint & Phil's POV but all three pairs have a story arc.

Therapy is a lot harder than Sam had let on, Steve thinks. Talking about things he’s never talked about, revealing things he’s never revealed. And to someone who’d started out a perfect stranger. It goes against every instinct in himself, all of which tell him to keep these things to himself, to let it all out only in the physical violence of a fist against a punching bag.
It’s been a month now since Bucky—Jigsaw—came back of his own volition after the auction debacle and his escape from the Tower. Since they first pissed off the FBI by ruining a handful of raids against Clint’s “tracksuit mafia.” Since they raided that bank vault and found everything waiting there inside it that Jigsaw had said would be there. Waiting, perhaps, to be used.
It’s been a month, but it feels so much longer.
(Or: The one where the Avengers have successfully brought the asset in after his murder sprees, and the therapy (and relationships) can begin in earnest. A direct sequel to Blue-Eyed Matador.)
