Naruto is determined to bring Sasuke back, no matter what, and that’s exactly the problem. Naruto’s mission to rescue Sasuke is getting in the way of Sasuke’s own warpath, and it’s really starting to piss him off. So, Sasuke decides to take matters into his own hands and kidnap his former teammate and keep him contained since no one else in the Hidden Leaf can do it right. Except things start to escalate to a level neither one of them was prepared for.

The raven scowled and stood abruptly to leave. He allowed his anger and hatred to consume him, as it always had. What he didn’t know is that Naruto felt every piece of it. He could see it, hear it, read it. Sasuke’s heart had been both Naruto’s favorite, and least favorite, book. A book he knew cover to cover. A book he could recite word for word in the darkness.
And as much as Sasuke refused to acknowledge it, he had known Naruto’s heart just as well.
I hate you. Sasuke thought.
“It’ll pass.” Naruto muttered through the white solace of the room.
And Sasuke pretended not to hear him, when in reality, it was the only thing he would think about for the rest of the night.

Post-war, Sasuke returns to the village with Naruto. Naruto has PTSD from Sasuke leaving (in the original series), leading him to grow more and more anxious that he'll lose Sasuke again. Meanwhile, Sasuke has made the choice to stay by Naruto's side, but Naruto's anxiety only seems to get worse.
