Summary
Eating disorders in media are always portrayed as someone fasting until they can’t, fainting or being so noticeably skeleton-like that their loved ones confront them. Their shirt is taken off, and their ribs are clearly countable, their cheeks gaunt, shaking at the slightest breeze. Mike is not like that.

He doesn’t think he’s fat. No, he’s always been scrawny. He doesn’t need to control his food. Maybe it’s out of convenience: less food means more money, fewer dishes and a longer time spent being productive. Going hungry is like flicking a switch in his head. Will hasn’t noticed, or if he has, he hasn’t said anything. Mike’s thinner, but he’s always been lanky, so it’s easy to shrug off.

Summary
Before Will comes, Mike is dressed in one of Nancy’s old blouses, some trousers (that he’s only meant to wear for formal occasions but his mom’s letting this time slide ‘cause he was gonna be a werewolf, but changed his mind last-minute) and a cape. He likes capes and wears them even when it isn’t a costume party or Halloween. His dad tells him he looks stupid, and that always leads to his parents arguing again, which leads to Nancy being angry at him, even though the only thing he’s done is wear a cape when he isn’t specified to.
Nevertheless, it’s taking hours for Will to come, so he has to sit grumpily on the couch as his dad fumbles with the TV.

“You’re wearing my sweater.”
Mike looks up, not realising Will was home. Usually, the cat jumps at the noise of the door, but she’s still peacefully kneading biscuits onto the polka-dot blanket on Mike’s lap. Mike looks down at the pinkish jumper with white stripes on him. He shrugs.
“It’s comfy and I’m cold.”
Will frowns. “I’m cold, and yet I don’t go around stealing your clothes!”
Mike scoffs indignantly. Narrowing his eyes, he shoots a light-hearted glare at his boyfriend. His arms (also covered by the soft material) cross over his chest, unfortunately startling the tortoiseshell and she jumps off, making a mad dash to their bedroom. “Yes. Yes, you do.”

Summary
Their room is unmistakably theirs. Mike’s diploma is hammered into the wall, next to Will’s piano certificates. On the nightstand, there’s Mike’s inhaler (his worst attacks are at night), a photo of Eddie’s first concert, another of Mike’s first day of uni next to his last, and a mini painting of their cat, Spooky.
On the bed, Mike is sprawled out. His long limbs had only grown since high school, leaving him tall and lanky, counteracting Will’s sturdy build. Will smiles. Mike’s a bed hog: has been since he was a kid (or, at least, that's what Miss Wheeler and Nancy have spent a lifetime complaining about), and nothing has changed. Especially now that Mike’s always in bed first, since he doesn’t have to worry about interdimensional creatures or assignments.
