“You sure you don’t want Jimin or either of the other two trolls to be your best man? You can still change your mind.”
Namjoon snorts, his eyes crinkling with an amused smile. “Thanks for taking Seokjin-hyung on your road trip,” he says, glancing sideways at Hoseok as though reading from a teleprompter. “I’m sure you two will have a great time. Hyung likes you.”
Yoongi laughs without meaning to, loud and derisive.
Not for the first time, he regrets he had no witnesses on that first night he and Seokjin met years ago.
Because he doesn’t like Seokjin and all of their friends know it, but Seokjin certainly doesn’t like him either. He’s just far better than Yoongi at hiding it. Or just more of a hypocrite.(Or: Yoongi gets emotionally blackmailed into taking the guy he hates the most on his road trip to his best friends’ wedding and ends up sharing snacks, playlists, beds, and, maybe, his entire heart.)

There’s an art to building a joke, a clinical method only practice and years of training can turn into mastery.
First comes the setup. You set the mood for the audience, lure them into thinking this is a perfectly normal character, a perfectly mundane situation. That way, they can picture a clear image in their head, relate to the scene.
Then, you have the punchline.
The setup of this story is this: Man writes a routine out of anger against an injustice and goes viral.
The punchline? Yoongi hasn’t figured that part out yet.(Or Comedian Min Yoongi goes viral after an acerbic routine on nation’s son-in-law Kim Seokjin’s public outing.)

Yoongi forgets about being stealthy, the shock so grand it smothers both adrenaline and survival instincts.
Because behind the counter–chopping vegetables like it is a perfectly normal occurrence, like this is something they do, a domestic sight to behold from another life–stands Kim Seokjin.
He’s humming a tune that doesn’t match the classical music trickling from the speakers and he’s wearing Yoongi’s plain apron, a ginger smile on his handsome face. Like Yoongi didn’t fuck him over and stole a two-million-dollar watch from him just three days ago.
(Or Yoongi is a professional thief and Seokjin is his latest victim. It doesn’t end there.)
