“Oh yeah, pretty bird?” He tilts Keigo’s chin up towards his face. “You think you can wrap presents better than me?”
Keigo’s eyes glimmer with the challenge. He scoffs. “Baby. I know I can.” Squirming out of Touya’s grip, he stands from the couch, sleep forgotten. “But if you want to tango, we can tango.”
With a half-cocked grin, he hurries off to the spare bedroom, where they’ve been storing all the packages that need wrapped. He comes out with bags hanging off his arms, packages stacked precariously in front of his chest. Dropping them on the table, he turns back to Touya, looking all too pleased with himself.
“C’mon, hot stuff. Show me whatcha got.”

“Took you a while to come see your ex…” Touya muttered, the word sounding sour on his tongue. Keigo felt it echo in his own mouth.
Touya’s tone was the same as ever - sharp, abrasive, refusing softness even now, half-wrapped in bandages and visibly straining just to stay upright.Keigo exhaled slowly, something tight in his chest loosening just a fraction.
Damn it. Touya hadn’t changed.
Not the parts that mattered. Inviting him in. Offering him a seat. Then stabbing right where it hurt. Yeah. That was Touya.
This is worse than anything the HPSC put me through.Keigo stepped inside at the half-hearted wave, the door clicking shut behind him. He lingered a second longer before dragging himself toward the empty chair by the bed, perching on the edge like he didn’t quite belong - because he genuinely felt didn’t.
“Ex, huh?” he breathed, forcing a crooked smile that didn’t reach his eyes. “You make it sound like we broke up over bad takeout or something.”
