Summary
The man- now unmistakably Eddie Munson- opened his mouth as if to say something, choosing to instead launch himself at Steve. There was a second where Steve thought he was being attacked, knocked off kilter, but then Eddie’s arms were around him, burying his face in Steve’s hair. Half-collapsing beneath the weight, Steve guided them both to the floor, pulling Eddie closer instinctively. He felt thinner than he used to, the skin of his back littered with scars.
“Eddie,” Steve murmured disbelievingly, holding him as he shook like a leaf in Steve’s arms. “You’re not dead.”
Eddie laughed, despite the trembling. He clutched onto Steve’s shirt like a lifeline.
“Yeah,” he managed, voice high and vulnerable. “Sorry to disappoint.”

Summary
The movement shifts his mask down, the already loose knot unravelling further from the scuffle. When it finally comes undone and falls off his face, he expects a punch that never comes. Instead, Steve is frozen above him.
“Eddie?” Steve breathes. He blinks at him.
He brings the stun gun to his neck and Steve crumples with a choked grunt.

Or: A healing Eddie suffering from amnesia is found in the Upside Down by the Army and taken in by them, trained and experimented on until he finds his way back to Hawkins in the winter of 1989, hoping to regain his past life and memories.

The wolf stays where he’s at and for a moment Eddie feels extremely stupid for trying to communicate with an animal but then the wolf stands up- and woah he’s way bigger up close.
Eddie watches as the wolf steps closer and giggles at the wet cold feeling of his snout sniffing at his hand. He brings it up to pet through the wolf’s unbelievably soft fur and marvels at the glisten of the golden-like color even in the moonlight. “You do too, huh?” Eddie giggles, scratching behind the wolf’s ear as he sniffs at Eddie’s face. “I think I’m gonna’ call you Ozzy.”
Ozzy huffs and Eddie laughs.
“Yeah. Ozzy suits you perfectly.”
