There is occasionally a certain point one reaches during the attempt to attain a goal where one decides that the goal is just not worth it.
Unfortunately, this also often coincides with being at a point in the attainment of that goal where it’s too damn late and you’re just gonna have to suck it up, buttercup, and get your shit together and do it anyway.
Tim is pretty sure this shit is absolutely not worth it, but it’s too late now and even if it wasn’t, Mama ain’t raise no fuckin’ quitter.

Tim’s quest to bring Bruce back from his Time-Travel-Super-Vacation goes horribly topsy-turvey when Ra's takes a more pro-active approach to keeping Tim prisoner, and he ends up in an alternate universe where he never existed, and everybody is disorientingly well-adjusted and weirdly obsessed with his “wellness”, whatever that means.
Tim hates mystical artifacts.

***LIL HIATUS: update on most recent chapter!***
Then gifts start arriving at his apartment, on the first of every month, like clockwork, like an apology. There is never any note, but the wrapping paper is Japanese, thick and expensive, and always blue-black.
He could pretend they were from anyone; from Alfred, or from Bruce, as unlikely as that would be. The lack of a signature made it easy to compartmentalise again. Perhaps that was the point.
It was usually food, or astronomically expensive, understated clothing that Tim would never buy for himself. Once, when his prescription ran out, it was melatonin; of course that little- whoever it was, kept tabs on that.

A young Damian attempts to initiate a relationship with a horrified Tim. Damian swears that he won't be refused, and begins a five year, long-distance campaign of seduction via gift giving, poetry and abortive attempts to get Tim to just sleep for once.

“Okay,” Tim finally decides, “maybe you can help. So Bruce is lost in time—”
“Oh my god,” the other Tim whispers, eyes going wide with realization. “So there’s a time travel as well as a multiverse component to the tech that brought me here. Interesting. But wait, where’s Jason? Why didn’t he back you up out there?” He looks around, frowning as though he expects Red Hood to pop out from under the bed or something.
“Time travel? How long are we talking about here? And why would Red Hood be with me?” he asks, puzzled. No one believes him about Bruce being alive, especially not the man who still considers him nothing but a poor replacement.
“...Shit.” Other Tim flops down on the narrow hotel couch. “Things are even more different here than I thought.”

Summary
So, Tim has two choices from here on out. He can continue on as he is, live in plausible deniability and have Lieutenant Montoya and her task force dog his every step once he's out in the field… or he could throw her a bone, and give her a push in another direction. Tim will most likely still be dogged around when he's on the field, but he can make it so that the officers are a little more sympathetic towards him.
All right. If Tim’s going to pull things completely out of his ass, he might as well have some fun with it.
