Summary
The first timeline ends in an elegy.
The second becomes a requiem.
The third timeline carries the same refrain as the elegy and the requiem. It’s an encore of the same chorus, of the well-worn melody that sings of a reluctant hero and a princess of spies.
Yet the verses of the third timeline are different enough to change the whole song.

Summary
Zelda stands tall at the edge of the cliff.
At her back is the rising light. Above her rests the sky she loves, and beneath her, a horde of foes.
There are far too many of them. Zelda’s no slouch at the art of the blade, but even she can’t handle this army alone. Especially not while Link is away on a quest across eras. Still, the mob of bokoblins below her cannot be left to their own devices.
Zelda smiles, open and warm as the sun. She lifts her sword skyward, reaching out to kindred souls across the ages.
The others answer her call.

Summary
Zagreus smiles as he steps through the veil of silence Nyx has projected over the entrance to his room. His quick footsteps throw sparks across the hard stone floor. There’s Than, hovering over the corner by the bookshelves, and Meg standing beside him. Zagreus opens his mouth, perhaps to remind Than of the tabletop game and tease him about how embarrassed he had seemed at the result. But his words fade before he can voice them.
The scene in the room derails his train of thought and leaves him gaping like a particularly unintelligent surface-dwelling sea creature.
Than is holding an infant.

In Hatari, Queen Nailah had spoken of other lands, continents thought lost to the great flood. Ike wanted to see them. He traced imaginary landscapes over Soren’s back at night, the patterns of his fingers making rivers and lakes, the line of Soren’s spine mountains.
“We’ll need maps, if there are any to be found,” Soren said. “Food and water. Logic dictates that we won’t speak the language, but everyone speaks the language of gold. Ike, are you listening to me?”
“Sure,” Ike yawned. “Or we can make like the hawk tribe and wing it.”
“Ike, I love you more than anything or anyone else in this world,” Soren said. “That is why I refuse to allow you to starve to death in some pathetic dinghy in the middle of the ocean.”

Ike and Soren's journey is interrupted when Soren is injured by a cursed sword. With Soren poisoned and running out of time, Ike embarks on a desperate quest. Stranded in Goldoa while Soren recovers, Soren struggles with the truth about his birth, Rajaion's sacrifice, and both sides of his lineage, while Ike finds himself conflicted on how he should feel when it comes to Soren's birth family.
