Etho’s always felt a little different from everyone else.
He realized when he was in his early twenties one of the reasons why.
While all his childhood friends were getting into relationships, he was content with just being by himself, never quite feeling what people described as attraction. Etho found a term that he felt describes himself, Aroace.
But here Etho is on Hermitcraft and there is someone he’s felt weirdly drawn to since he met him, his charismatic personality an amazing one to be around, someone Etho’s always admired as a friend.
Etho smiles as he watches Grian mess around with Gem, lightly teasing her.

Summary
Burnt out and exhausted with city life, Etho packs up and moves to the old abandoned farm his parents owned before he was born. It's sat empty for thirty years and it's not in a good state, but he's determined to make the most of it.
The town is full of good people, and he quickly finds friendship in abundance. Amongst them all though, one stands out. Bdubs is kind and funny and exceptionally talented at a number of things. He's handsome too, and Etho can't help but crush on him, just a little bit.
They get along fantastically right from day one, but Etho keeps his feelings to himself. It's just a crush, it'll go away. And besides, it's not like Bdubs would ever like him back... Right?

“You— You know the Secret Keeper voices? When you succeed your task?” Scar asks, the words practically bursting out of him, propelled by the pressure of being kept at bay for so long.
Martyn’s eyes narrow just slightly, his gaze flickering to the Secret Keeper and then back. “Yeah, I’ve heard ‘em. We all have, far as I can tell.”
