“We can’t do this.” Clover turns away, cursing the Brothers up above for implanting these feelings into his chest, for making him so goddamn warm every time Qrow enters his sight.
Qrow just stares back, crestfallen expression hardening in the blink of an eye. It’s a practiced transition, Clover realizes. That realization makes it worse.
He wants to beg Qrow to stay as he leaves, but he can’t put it into words. Shame and humiliation and anger and betrayal ring too loudly in his ears to find the right words to say that he can’t be the other man.
