Summary
A disparate collection of vagabonds and strays make their way through the wilderness, searching for a cure to the mindflayer tadpole. Tav, a smart-mouthed bard/rogue, becomes the unspoken leader of the group. While there's an immediate spark with the brown-eyed wizard, she can't ignore her history with people just like him, ambitious asshats who'd sooner end the world than be ordinary. The white-haired elf, while untrustworthy in an entirely different way, seems safer... less likely to stir up old feelings. THE FIRST ACT is a story-driven, angsty, slow-burn adventure/romance featuring such beloved tropes as: love triangles, haters to lovers, lovers to friends, banter, mutual pining, and attention to side characters / companions and their own journeys and loves.
