Summary
“Say chain of command one more time.” Buck snarls, annoyed that Eddie keeps repeating that phrase and is not listening to his point of view.
“Or what?” Eddie says low and dangerous. “I’m not the one at risk of punishment here. I’m not the one who was reckless. I’m not the one that needs to be reminded they are not expendable.”
Eddie steps close to him, looming over him from above and grabs Buck’s face between his thumb and his pointer finger, angling his neck up so Buck has no choice but to look at Eddie. He squeezes gently until Buck has no choice but to unclench his jaw. “Baby… you did a good thing, but you did it in a bad way. And honestly, you scared the hell out of us. And I can’t let that fly. So you and I are going to talk about this after the shift.”
Amongst his irritation, Buck feels a shiver of anticipation. Both nervous and excited. The way Eddie is looking at him is filled equally with hunger, fear, and anger.

Summary
Eddie’s just trying to fix his leaky kitchen sink when his sister bursts in waving her phone, yelling about a viral TikTok. What she shows him stops him cold: Buck, on stage, cowboy hat tipped low, singing a heartbreak song.
What follows is a spectacular mix of bad timing, mutual pining, and emotional repression so thick it should come with a warning label. Both men are forced to face the feelings they’ve been pretending don’t exist—Buck’s for the man he thinks he can’t have, and Eddie’s for the truth he’s spent his whole life running from.
Or: Eddie sees a TikTok of his best friend singing about heartbreak, and suddenly the closet isn’t just cracked- it’s shattered glass.

The sequel to "Green Is an Ugly Color on You"
_______
“What did you just say to him?” Eddie demands. Eddie can always tell when Buck is off or uncomfortable, like it's a sixth sense.
Tommy lets out a quiet, humorless laugh, the sound flat and unimpressed. “Nothing serious,” he says, waving it off like Buck isn’t worth the effort. “I was just wondering if you’ve figured out how to handle Buck yet, or if he’s still too much work.”
His eyes flick briefly to Buck, sharp and assessing. He shrugs, casual and cruel. “Some people don’t mind that kind of project. I just never had the patience.”
Buck sees the exact moment Eddie’s switch flips. He goes deadly calm, like a viper coiled to strike. As always, Tommy misses the signs.
“Come again.” Eddie repeats flatly.

“You’re Buck’s Babbles, right? That’s your podcast?” Eddie asks. Buck uncrosses his arms as his eyes widen and he steps closer to Eddie. He looks a little stunned.
“Uh - y-yeah. It is. How - how do you know that? I don’t have any of my social media linked to it,” Buck stutters, stepping closer again. Eddie is peripherally aware of the others staring at them but he can’t break himself out of the bubble they’ve found themselves in. The reason Eddie is standing where he is right now is standing right in front of him. Buck is standing right in front of him.or
