Steve watches him as he comes down the steps, and Steve holds out the compass for Tony to take, which is uncomfortable, since his hands are tied together in front of him.
“It’s not broken, you just don’t know how to use it,” Tony says as he approaches. “How the hell did you get-”
He stops, staring at the compass.

After the threat of a stalker becomes more pronounced, Bucky's bodyguard job changes from part-time to full-time. The relationship he has with his client isn't a factor in this, not at all.
Bucky wouldn’t say that falling in love was one moment for him, one epiphany. It wasn’t an action, easily tracked, wasn’t anchored in time.
It was a process, layered, repeated; every second of time, spent together, every moment was a part of it.

Tony was a knight.
So it wasn’t exactly official. And his supposed role was — well, the less thought about it the better. And the rules for being a knight — the whole initiation thing, the tests, the age restrictions — had to be a little bent to include him, sure.
Whatever. Being a knight was more a philosophy, anyway, a way of thinking, of living your life, and Tony got that: he was determined to save all in need of saving and serve his kingdom until his dying breath.

Bucky’s eyes are blue-gray, a little bit surprised, and the whole’s expression is open and astounded. He’s so beautiful. Tony couldn’t see it, before, from a distance, but he’s so beautiful. Tony doesn’t know what’s going on. He stares, silent. Bucky stares back. They are like stars whose gravitational pull on each other is too strong for anything in them to function properly.
