He looks that direction as he continues singing, and he realises that the phone is being held by a bright blue hand. A few words later, the phone comes down and he sees familiar horns bedecked with bows, face turned towards a screen where she is very clearly sending a video to someone.

Summary
Slowly, inexorably, the twine ball kept rolling. It smashed into the wooden gazebo supports, which cracked and buckled on impact like they were made out of styrofoam. The ball bounced down down the gazebo steps and picked up speed as it rolled into the street.
“Oh shit,” Sam said.
The purple-stained side of the ball burst into flames.
“Oh shit,” Steve said.
The twine ball barreled forward, burning merrily, now headed straight for the armored SUV that had been advancing up the street. The agents inside took one look at the flaming wrecking ball heading towards them and bailed out, forced to abandon their cover to avoid the most ignominious death in Hydra history.
(That time Steve was so bad at confessing his feelings that the Winter Soldier had to come in from the cold to do it for him. In which Steve has the suaveness of a human tire fire, Sam has the patience of a goddamn saint, and Bucky has had it up to here with watching them dance around each other.
This was supposed to be a quick, goofy road trip romcom, but then I tripped over a lot of Sam and Steve and Bucky feelings, so now it’s a long, mostly-goofy road trip romcom. With a few explosions.)

Whilst journeying home from a wedding, Fíli and Sigrid are caught in a rain storm. They try to find an inn to shelter then however discover that there is only one room left, and that the Inn has a policy on unmarried couples being unable to share!
What are our pair to do, but pretend they are married and spend the night in the same bed? For keeping warm of course. Anything else between a Prince and a Princess would be considered highly inappropriate.
A bargeman's daughter and an apprentice at a forge though... that would be a different matter entirely.

The first picture he gets comes from Sam. Steve’s phone buzzes in his pocket, an hour or so before he’s due to leave, and even though he’s in the conference room with a lot of extremely important people, he pulls it out, checks the message. There’s no text, just an attached picture, and Steve glances up, angles his phone in towards himself, loads the photo.
It’s not dirty, or anything. Just the curve of Bucky’s cheek, his mouth, hair falling into his eyes. Real close-up, a little out of focus, and unutterably tender. Steve smiles for way too long before he types in a reply.
Beautiful. Also, this meeting is taking forever.

This fic reads like a romantic dramedy in the BEST WAY. Sam's, erm, not in this fic. And the way Dean and Cas bumble through the beginning of their relationship is heartbreaking. Jess and Dean are the BroTP in this one, in a very very real way. They're the only ones who understand what each other is going through and they help each other completely judgment free. Letters from Dean to Sam sprinkle their way through the fic in a way that gives you some breathing room around the plot yet give you a fuller understanding of both Dean and his relationship with his brother. A++ Fic, I nearly cried at work. So. Take that as you will.

Next thing he knows, Bucky Barnes is opening his eyes in the 21st century, which is full of great gadgets and coffee, and at least includes his old pal Steve. (And, inexplicably, a different Stark.) Meanwhile, the Winter Soldier finds himself in the middle of World War Two, helping Captain America hunt down HYDRA (which is at least familiar), pretending to be Bucky Barnes (which is not), and figuring out the very noisy group of soldiers who call themselves the Howling Commandos.

OKAY so when themcgeek told me "If you only read one more fic in your entire life, make it "to memory now I can't recall", I figured she was probably pretty serious. I mean, I take all her fic recs seriously but she was Just So Fervent! So i downloaded it and read the whole thing on the plane, and OH MY GOD this fic has EVERYTHING! Bucky in the future being a Complete Science Dork, Tony being the absolute sweetheart that he is deep down, HINTS OF WINTER WIDOW, Steve Rogers giving me FEELINGS, FUCKING MORITA HELL YEAH my favorite Howling Commando, the most beautiful redemption arc for Winter Soldier AHHHHH JARVIS EVEN HAS POV CHAPTERS which were the most wonderful thing oh LORD. OKAY i need to calm down yikes don't mind me, just having a melt down over James Buchanan Barnes.

Oh. My. GOD y'all, this fic was AMAZING! The posters are beautiful, the period casting is spot on! Mel Gibson Captain America Jesus oh LORD I DIED! After every film I thought, "I would TOTALLY watch that! Why doesn't this movie exist??" I LOVED the Buzzfeed/The Toast-esque article so much too, but I dont' know if I'd be able to choose between Cap Porn or 80s Red Skull Nonsense. Enfents de la patrie (???) sounded like the kind of movie I would probably not choose unless someone made me watch it with them, but then afterwords I woudl love it.... And the boys' (and nat's) reactions interspersed brought everything into a coherent plot-ish. But it didnt' suffer for having no plot, rather, it was like a series of related sketches. And they were beautiful
