Summary
When Shen Qingqiu fails his first mission, he loses the opportunity to unfreeze the OOC function. He has to go through the events of the story in-character as the original goods. He's sure that he's definitely getting human sticked until he stumbles onto a possible solution: if it's out-of-character to not be evil, what if the scum villain got some character development?
Meanwhile, Luo Binghe is getting paranoid that his Shizun has started being nice to him. In a really mean way.

Summary
If Shizun was hoping to hide his mysterious visitor from his peak, his edict for everyone to leave and not remark on her made it impossible for her to go unremarked on. Ming Fan was currently scurrying around, punishing anyone who suggested anything untoward was possibly happening. This mostly meant people waited to gossip until he was gone. The leading theory was that the woman was from one of the brothels Shizun was rumored to have frequented in the past. Luo Binghe had never seen any evidence that this rumor was true (he was actually concerned that Shizun didn’t know what sex was), so he’d dismissed the claims as slander.
Then a woman had prostrated herself at the bottom of the stairs of Cang Qiong and begged that a message be delivered to all on the mountain. It was urgent, she said. She could not say more at this time, but lives depended on the right person hearing these words.
“What is the message?” a disciple had asked.
The woman raised her head. “Beyonce,” she had said clearly. “Internet. The general concept of astronauts.”

Summary
He doesn’t want to think about it. Soon he won’t have to. Zhu uses pain like a sieve and shoves him through. Under her hand, the mired filth inside of Ouyang would--not disappear. It would never disappear. But Zhu could drown him so thoroughly into his own self-loathing that Ouyang could fall out on the other side.
“The goal is pain without harm,” Zhu is telling her wife. “He likes to be hurt, but he goes too far when he does it himself. That’s why we started this. I need to make sure my general doesn’t overindulge.”
The wife nods thoughtfully. There’s a slight detachment in her manner that makes Ouyang want to gouge her eyes out, like he is some patient in a bed or a pig ready to be slaughtered. His secret, his shame, is a mildly interesting fact for her to process. Ouyang wants to cover himself. He wants to run.

Summary
On the desk in between Yue Qingyuan and Shen Qingqiu was a printout of the email. Shen Qingqiu refused to look at it. If he tried very hard, he could pretend it wasn’t there. When the email had hit his inbox this morning, Shen Qingqiu had read it and reread enough to have it memorized, as he tried to comprehend the meaning of these words arranged in this order. The second that comprehension dawned upon him, he’d deleted the email then promptly tried to forget everything about it.
He wasn’t being very successful on that front.
The message, written with the extraordinary eloquence that Shen Qingqiu knew Luo Binghe was capable of, had been sent en masse to the entire faculty and student body. It stated two main points. Firstly, that Luo Binghe attested that Shen Qingqiu had never slept with, assaulted, molested, groomed, or was in any way inappropriate to him during his time at Cang Qiong Academy (thanks for the endorsement, Binghe!!). Secondly, that Luo Binghe was announcing this because he intended to marry Shen Qingqiu and did not want even the whisper of false impropriety to stain his Shizun’s name.

Summary

Or: Shen Qingqiu meets a solitary demon while searching for the one cure for his deadly curse. When his search goes awry, Luo Binghe is shockingly willing to help him manage his worsening symptoms.

Summary
Luo Binghe enters the service of Shen Qingqiu as her personal maidservant. Some years later, Shen Qingqiu is arranged to marry the son of a general. There is no reason that these two things should be connected.

Shen Qingqiu let out a sigh that could have been a laugh. It would be nice if they lived in a world where they could stay together forever; it was a pity that they didn't. Binghe was still young, and naive about certain matters. But inside her bedroom, with the faint scent of incense and the candles' golden glow, Shen Qingqiu couldn't fault the girl for wanting to imagine a different world.

Lan Xichen pauses before he speaks. He often does. “A-Yao, will you…?”
There are any number of things that Lan Xichen might be about to say. He might be about to say, “A-Yao, will you cook breakfast while I bathe in the river?” But then, there is a gravity to his tone, and a flush on his cheeks. So perhaps it will be, “A-Yao, will you do that thing with your tongue?” Or even more thrillingly, “A-Yao, will you teach me how to do that thing with your tongue?”
Lan Xichen does not say any of these things. He says, “A-Yao, will you marry me? If we both survive the war, will you marry me?”

Lan Xichen proposes before the war. Somehow, through the property of transitivity, Wei Wuxian becomes Meng Yao’s problem to solve.
