Summary
Nick's blueberry plan is thwarted by safety procedures implemented within Dawn Bellwether's organization and it nearly costs the duo dearly. The experience of succumbing to the Nighthowler serum changes the red fox's psychology to a degree in the aftermath. Nearly two-years later, the continued trouble with the post-traumatic stress leads him further into the darkened den and forces an adaptation after graduating from the Police Academy. Unfortunately for Judy, not even the work can keep the mental wolves at bay forever.
(Edit 01/26: this entire series is written on a pre-Zootopia+ timeline and will have little to no relation to Zootopia 2 now that the sequel is out.)

“AHHH!” Judy screamed as she turned the corner of her door and entered the living room. To her surprise, Nick was no longer locked away in his room. He sat on the couch, reclining carelessly in front of the TV, which he hadn’t bothered to prop onto the stand that Judy had purchased. But that was besides the point because Nick was naked! Or— more accurately, practically naked. He wore nothing but checkered boxers and a pair of fuzzy slippers.
“What are you doing?” Judy yelled, covering her eyes with her left paw.
“Um… watching TV…” Judy couldn’t see Nick’s face, but he sounded confused.
“I can see that,” she grimaced, “but why are you naked?” She peeked out from between the spaces in her paw.
Nick looked down at his boxer-clad body. “I’m not naked, I’m wearing my pajamas.”
“Gah!” Judy huffed in frustration. “You can’t just hang out in our shared spaces only wearing underwear! How would you feel if I did that.” She immediately blushed, realizing the image that she had just put in Nick’s head.

Everything was great between those two idiots until the new case shows up with an unexpected guest. The tension rises with that "guest's" secret plans, which didn't make Nick happy at all. The only thing Nick hated is Judy being far away from him, and now he needs to bear with it.
