Summary
The gift of hobbits is a secret not known to dwarves. Bilbo’s gift saves the Company—repeatedly—and they don’t even know it until after Smaug is dead. But by then, just about everybody knows there’s a hobbit in Erebor, and the invading orcs decide to keep Bilbo and his otherworldly gift for themselves.

Summary
A silly hobbit one shot.
Hobbits being beardless is cultural, not biological. Hobbit men shave. And for weeks Bilbo’s been shaving without any of the Company noticing. But Bilbo lost his shaving razor somewhere under the Misty Mountains, and by the time they reach Beorn’s, he’s got quite a beard going. The dwarves appropriately freak out (especially the royal brooding one). Bilbo doesn’t notice and makes pie.
Or, a one-shot featuring the dwarvish equivalent of the overalls-wearing girl taking off her glasses and putting on a sundress trope.

It leads to pirates, kidnappings, and infiltrating Count Dooku’s palace on Serenno. It leads to the end of the war and the start of a relationship Cody never knew he could want, let alone have.

Summary
After the Quest of Erebor, Bilbo Baggins returned to the Shire desolate, with but a little chest of riches as his prize. For years afterwards, he regretted having done so, wishing instead that he had stayed by the side of the one he loved. Yet, he knew his place. As Gandalf had said, he was quite a little fellow in the wide world. A little hobbit like him had no business being a consort to a dwarven king - it was not done.
That was why, when he and the King of Erebor met again, Bilbo didn't think once that the impossible his heart still longed for could ever come true.

Cody, the long time owner of Kaminoe ranch in the middle of a busy (and beautiful) national park, passes the time by writing letters to his little brother Rex. There's not much to report until the post office in the nearby town of Tatooine is suddenly taken over by a strange and talkative new Postman that Cody can't decide if he hates or adores (it's probably hate, probably, Rex will know).
(A tiny story of sewing needles, opera stations, nice trucks, good food, bad weather, mules, bears, and the intimacy of writing someone a letter)
