He was a marvel to behold, a sight worth staring at as Jisung did most years. And by ‘teeny weeny, iddy biddy, miniscule crush’, what he really means is that he is absolutely in love with him.
And this year, he is finally going to do something about it.

"Earth to Jisung? Are you listening?", Minho's back is to Jisung as he's swinging left and right, hanging by the silk around his feet like a bat in the dark.
"No. Sorry.", he shakes his head to pull himself out of his thoughts and stands up, "Stop swinging for a second."
Minho's body goes instantly rigid - partially surprise, partially obedience. He doesn't know what to think as Jisung walks around him so that they're face to face.

Or: Minho is an aerial silk acrobat who grew up equally on the road and in the air, and Jisung is an animal enthusiast and a bit of nerd who wants to see the big cats. What starts as a phone number on the back of a circus flyer turns into a long-distance friendship and then so much more.

Summary
The conclusion Minho has come to after nights spent thinking of wavy brown hair when he spaces out during Jeongin’s kids shows, days spent with his eyes skimming the beach for a glimpse of honey skin, is that humans have an interest in the unknown.
Jisung is a new character in his day to day, the first in ages, ever since Hyeju got hired as a lifeguard. Jisung is pretty and he’s from the mainland but he seems to be setting up a life here, and Minho knows nothing about him besides his name. His brain has inexplicably latched onto a weaved story, a routine thing he and Hyunjin do, because humanity craves to learn more about the unknown.
The Jisung in his head is separate from the Jisung on the beach, though they look the same. A temporary annoyance, a psychological torment.
(OR: Minho, left to care for his younger brother after his parents death, works to make ends meet and doesn't have time for distractions. Jisung, a free-spirited and very distracting surfer, moves to town and turns Minho's world on it's head.)

“Okay, so—I kind of looked at your Instagram before planning the date, and I saw you have three cats. Do—Do you like cats?” Jisung asks, and Minho sees him cringe at himself, but he only processes it partially, because his heart jumps at the mention of his cats.
No. No, abort the mission. We can’t talk about cats. Cats are forbidden territory because they’re too close to Minho’s heart. Once someone shows interest in his cats Minho enters the danger zone of latching onto them and showing everything cat related on his phone to him.
This is supposed to be a date just to get his friends off his back about that stupid dare, not to convince Minho that Jisung is actually a cute guy. He takes a deep breath and tries to compose himself.
“Y-Yeah,” he simply answers, swallowing thickly and trying to contain his excitement. He really shouldn’t ask this, because if Jisung says yes, then Minho will certainly be gone, but he does so anyway. “What about you?”
"Yes."
Fuck.

Nothing ever more than a short, sweet peck, never anywhere aside from in their own apartment. It becomes as easy as breathing, to kiss Minho and be kissed by him, like they’ve been doing it this whole time. Jisung can’t remember why they hadn’t been doing it the whole time.
They still don’t talk about it.
They’re still not together.

He could fling open the door, too. Scream and shout at Jisung and the man, rage on and on about Jisung’s betrayal and how long he tried to convince himself that his suspicions were wrong. That Jisung would never do something so selfish and cruel. That Jisung loved him too much to ever cheat. But what’s the point of that? It doesn’t fix what’s fact, and Minho doesn’t want to see Jisung’s reaction to it, either. He doesn’t want to know if Jisung will try to convince him that this was just a ‘one-time mistake,’ or proudly own up to his serial cheating and tell him that he never loved him in the first place, or cry and beg for his forgiveness. Truthfully, the third possibility is what Minho fears the most.
At some point, cheating gets impossible to ignore. Minho has reached his breaking point.

“Four?” Jisung’s eyebrows shot up in surprise. “That’s generous.”
Minho shrugged, then took a sip of his coffee, “I think he’ll look at you. With distaste, obviously. And tell you all the reasons you’ve insulted him by thinking he would ever be an option for you.”
It was a game they’d been playing for as long as Minho could remember, a one to ten scale of how likely Jisung was to get a date with whatever stranger caught his eye that day. One was no response, not even a look. Ten was an immediate yes.
Minho had never guessed ten.

Summary

Minho manages to force his limbs to cooperate enough to take a step forward, and then promptly falls to his knees right next to the bed.
