In the weeks following being revived by the Cup of Life, strange circumstances have been following Leon. The fire in his chambers seems to light and douse itself, the wind dances across his face, and water seems to caress his hands. The shock burns away immediately; the ashes condense into a murky, muted sort of rage.
He stays still for a long moment, then pulls himself up against the wall. “Okay,” he says monotonously, taking a step toward the kid, and the kid- flinches. He flinches.
Jason reels back, not speaking yet, not trusting himself not to yell. And when he does speak, he says:
“Come on, kid. Let's go say hi to your dad."

“I know,” she said, but her eyes were hard, a mixture of doubt and determination. It was clear that she didn’t fully believe him, and that realization settled like lead in his stomach, leaving him feeling more vulnerable than ever.

When a confrontation with a powerful magic user goes awry, Damian is cursed, robbing him of his voice. Or, communicate without a fresh bruise appearing, that is.
What begins as an inconvenience quickly spirals into something far worse, as he finds himself struggling with the mounting realization: no one has noticed. As his silence deepens, so do the rifts with his family. He’s not helped by the many more sinister theories the people around him assume because of his new temperament.
