    20oz package pro-Jedi sentiments
    6 pro-clone trooper sentiments, freerange cult-informed take on the GAR, separated
    1 1/2 cup pro-Mandalorian sentiments, violently anti-woobification
    2 cups neurodivergence
    3 cups homebrew Force traditions
    1/2 cup inspiration by other fantastic authors
    4 Tbsp banter
    3 tsp cover art by the author
    Cherrypicked canon/legends/fanon details, to taste.

    Sift together.

    Boil 3 cups shameless self-indulgence and whisk vigorously. Add dry wit mixture, let rest approximately a week for every chapter.

    Bake for T-minus 44 standard years, 53 if measuring with ABY system.

    Serve with homemade memes on the side.

    CO Cody’s lip twitches in disgust at the very thought. Captain Gregor takes the pad as it is handed to him. Rex jumps to his feet and starts spewing platitudes before General Skywalker understands that he’s about to get his ass whooped in front of two separate units.

    Every new batch of shinies gets younger, somehow.

    Not— Well, yes, actually younger. They’re sending them out at eight now, like that’s anything but insane. (Like sending them out at ten wasn’t insane, never mind how convinced the Kaminoans are of the success of their training, never mind how the casualty rates of shinies are disproportionately high because dammit but Rex is right and nothing ever beats out actual experience—)

    But younger somehow else, too. Around the eyes, the set of their jaw, how they still suppress the smallest flinch at sudden noises. Cody looks at them and thinks of Domino squad, of Tano, of every civvie kid scrambling to cover from aerial strikes or running through market stalls laughing or sending the 212th earnest, excited holo messages he’s sure Obi-Wan isn’t actually supposed to show them.

    “Kote.”

    Cody is looking up into the visor, he realizes. The Mandalorian is tall, and his chest is mere inches away from Cody’s own. It is so still, so at ease with the proximity. The confidence makes Cody want to look away first. There is a tap to his arm. His eyes drop to see gloved fingers knocking gently against the plastoid. He looks up to see that, somehow, the Mandalorian has softened.

    “The name of a sunrise,” they say. “Glory be, Kote.”

    “Keep your glory,” Cody says outside of himself. “I’ll take the sunrise.”

    (Obi-Wan fakes his death and Cody works through every stage of grief. He eventually decides that he's going to fuck his way out of the depression pit and finds himself falling in love with this handsome Mandalorian who he just keeps meeting.)
