Very nice slice of life about realising you're queer in a rural town in the 80s. Upside Down trauma is still there, but mostly as subtext. I love the setting and the attention to detail (Bowie, Patti Smith, Bronski Beat, so many others), and the characters are great. ADHD!Eddie who is an absolute mess my beloved.

Really cute, extremely poignant story about Grantaire, a struggling single father recovering from addiction and anxiety, reconnecting with old friends and healing. Oh and also finding love. The characters are amazing, the story is beautiful and well-paced, and I would die for Grantaire's daughter. And I don't even like kidfic!
Also, one of the very few stories I've read that address Éponine and Cosette's conflict on angles that are neither Éposette nor Marius related. It's a breath of fresh air.

It's not like Eponine hates Enjolras or anything.
That would be giving him too much credit.
She remembers nights where Grantaire sobbed into her shoulder, where she found him half-passed out in some seedy, back alley bar, where Enjolras had spat harsh, cruel words and Grantaire had sat in his chair at the Musain and thrown back words equally harsh.
And yeah, she knows now that Enjolras is capable of being nice, being kind, of doing small, sweet things that make Grantaire beam and herself crack a reluctant smile.
So she definitely doesn't hate him.
She just doesn't particularly like him either.
Unfortunately, her living situation doesn't sympathise with this.

The fact that I didn't bookmark this the first time I read it is a personal flaw I will have to atone for. Amazing Ép and Enj interactions. Awkward characters that stay awkward all the way through, great characterisation. It will break your heart, I will give you cuddles. Highly recommend.

Have you ever read a story that made you want to whisper about it instead of talking? That's how I feel after reading this. You can't break the magic.
Little piece about the Fae, and science and magic, and choosing between two worlds. It doesn't go the usual fairy tale route, and in my opinion that only makes it so much better.

Summary
Feuilly first met Enjolras at an anti-austerity march; Enjolras had broken through the police-lines to lead the crowd away from the backstreets and onto the main roads of the city. Feuilly remembers cheering with the rest of the protestors as Enjolras and a few others had led them to the town hall in what he later learned had been an organised effort. Enjolras had quickly appropriated the base of a statue for a stage, calling speakers out and passing a megaphone between them.
Two years later, and Feuilly has carved himself a family out of their ragtag group of anarchists and social misfits, finding friendship where he'd never expected to. When he learns that Enjolras used to have a crush on him, he’s not quite sure how to react.
***
(The Enjolras/Feuilly fic that was intended as a oneshot but somehow became a multichapter fic complete with sprinkles of union politics, a dash of anarchism, and more pining than you could possibly imagine.)

This reads like one of those old union workers movies, Ken Loach and the like. The relationships are all spot on, and I love how Enjolras and Feuilly navigate their feelings, but to quote one of the commenters, the real ship here is Feuilly/trade unions. And it is beautiful.

Grantaire's life has a pattern: he pays his respects to Aphrodite, he goes to work, he loves Enjolras and provokes him because he can't bring himself to do otherwise. That seems unlikely to change, at least until Enjolras speaks out against the gods and ends up cursed. Grantaire does his best to help him, but it turns out it's just as hard to love Enjolras up close as it is from afar.

Great story, very interesting and thought-out take on the consequences of Greek Gods existing in modern times. The worldbuilding in this is amazing. The character dynamics are very good too, and the idea of having Enjolras [SPOILER lose his voice END OF SPOILER] works perfectly. As much as this is a love story, it would still be gripping if the relationship was platonic, and Enjolras still gives me aromantic vibes, which I always appreciate. The way the unrequited (?) feelings are handled is heartwrenching.

"In jail," Cosmo whispered back, "Happy birthday."

"Keep your voice down," hissed Cosmo, just as a hail of applause blew the curtain back and practically deafened him. "In jail."

The fic that cemented in me the headcanon of Cosmo as a gay man and Don being his straight best friend and surrogate big brother. The dynamics between the two are top-notch, and it feels very true to the time period. A great piece of queer storytelling that isn't about romantic relationships.

Elena is a street-level superhero--she's never been one of the ones who wanted glory. Now, though, a visit from an old enemy forces her to step up and see what she might have to do with the Sidhe who invaded and were sent away twenty years ago. Luckily, she has fellow superheroes, especially the Huntress, to back her up, and a new girlfriend in her regular life to make things feel more normal. (Though nothing, of course, can ever be normal when you've got a secret identity.)

Great superhero story, with good female characters and a gripping storyline. The most popular Merlin characters are there, but mostly as nods and background worldbuilding: the story centers heavily around Elena, Mithian, Changeling and the Huntress. The powers are pretty original, and they fit well with the setting of the story.

This writer mixes cat behavior and human behavior in a way that feels right: you can imagine Pouncival sticking his head in a can and getting stuck and afterwards making elaborate plans, and it feels natural. That's a tough line to tread.
Good story, great characterization. It is tagged as Munkustrap/Alonzo (and it is) but it mostly centers around the platonic relationships of the other cats in the Junkyard as they try to uncover their secret.

We all know that throwaway comment in the book about how Aziraphale's taxes are so correctly done that HMRC is convinced that the bookshop is a money laundering operation; and that other comment about how thugs would come to try and get him out of Soho. So what if we combined the two? A very convincing and very very funny take at "everyone thinks Aziraphale is a mafia boss". Aziraphale and Crowley are perfectly in character, but their interactions are read... interestingly by the rest of the cast.
This is part of a series about Outside POVs. They are (mostly) independent and are all good, but this is clearly the best in my opinion.

Canon divergence where Zuko ends up as Toph's bodyguard at the Beifong's household when he gets banished. Toph obviously "sees" right through his bullshit and they become fast friends. Marvelous friendship, an interesting take on Toph when she was still playing the good girl in front of her parents, Zuko shedding his conditioning. The author has said that they are going to catch up to the point when the Gaang finds The Blind Bandit and I can't wait.

What happened to Steph after the end of Pride? A very good look into everyone's lives after the events of the film, Steph-centered (because Steph is the best). I'd consider this Gen: you can get glimpses of the canon relationships, but apart from that I would even say that the Gail/Steph tag isn't deserved.

--His clothing was expensive and stylish;
--He wore very strange but noticeable cologne;
--His relationship to the seat he occupied could only, very loosely, be described as “sitting;”
--He looked angry;
--He was wearing sunglasses.What Aubrey Thyme, a professional, thought, upon first seeing her new client was: you’re going to be a fun one, aren’t you?

This is one of the better works I've read in a while. The pace is impeccable, the emotions are all there, Crowley's path to self-acceptance is beautiful to watch, and the OC of the therapist is great too (you'll end up being almost as invested in her as you are in Crowley). Entirely TV-series canon-compilant. I don't know how exact it is about the process of trauma survivor's therapy, but it feels real, at least. I know the length of it can feel a bit daunting, but I assure you, it is so worth it. Go read it. You won't regret it.

What happens when the Soul Society gets wind of the whole Horrocrux situation and decides to send Ichigo of all people to protect Harry on his fifth year? Anime-logic and YA-logic collide, everyone is bewildered and a bit overwhelmed, and the result is hilarious. The Weasley twins get some protagonism as Ichigo's destruction aids, Ichigo sasses everyone, and it all devolves into a completely wild Fix-It universe. Completely Gen, which is a nice change from all the romance stories.
It won't make a lot of sense unless you know quite a bit about both Harry Potter and Bleach (more about HP, because it takes place in Hogwarts, but at the very least you need to know who Shiro is to follow). -

This isn't actually a Fake Relationship fanfic. It is a plot point, but it is mostly a story about a couple of friends who discover they want to take things further after fifteen years of being... basically a queerplatonic couple. No Gay Panic either. Just regular panic at wanting to push things but being terrified to. Magnificently well written. Heavy on the smut.

1941 is the London Blitz and the year that MI5 really comes into its own with the now infamous ‘double cross’ system. The service keep tabs on suspects, root out enemy agents and try to turn them into doubles.
Anthony J Crowley is fucking great at this job. He can be sneaky, underhanded and damn ruthless but also charming and kind. It’s what makes him good at turning.
Aziraphale is just a regular Soho bookseller who loves his shop and books and good food and wine when he’s approached by a woman claiming to be MI5, wanting to recruit him for espionage. The poor man is too trusting and gets the shock of his life when he’s approached by a charming but dangerous-looking man also claiming to be MI5.

I don't usually go for Good Omens AUs because I find that the whole Heaven/Hell dynamic is too important for a GO fic to work without it, but this fanfic clearly proves me wrong. It takes the church scene from ep. 3 of the show and makes it into a full Human AU about spies during WWII. It also includes great secondary characters (I'm in love with Beelzebub) and a slow burn that feels completely deserved (they are not just stupid and pining: coming out to the wrong person could send them to jail, or worse!).
