Wade’s an observant guy. He knows that something fishy went down a ways back near the Statue of Liberty, and that something fishy happened as a result. But once they fixed up the Statue of Liberty, everyone moved on from it the way they move on from every freaky thing that happens, so learning much more than that has been harder than finding Blind Al’s hidden stash of cocaine. And Wade is also a busy guy, so unless he has some reason to care, he’s gonna make like his old man and fuck off about it.
This, though, might be a reason to care.

Deadpool is a monster, a murderer, a crazed lunatic who only cares for himself and loves violence. At least that's what Iron Man says when he gives Spider-Man a job the Avengers weren't capable of accomplishing: turn Deadpool into a hero. If you can't stop him, get him to join your side.
With Peter's life falling apart he couldn't refuse the payment that was going to go along with this, even if he didn't think it would work. Things don't go how Peter expects though, and before he knows it the job of being this guy's friend starts feeling like it's not a job at all.
