She doesn’t remember me.
Caitlyn’s stomach was a rock, plummeting into the depths of her abdomen. The past three minutes had been an emotional whirlwind, but this moment... this hurt.
Seven years. She'd spent seven years thinking about Vi. Worrying about her. Wondering if she was safe, if she was happen, if she even had a place to call home.

Summary

By the time Vi reaches the hospital, they’re already fighting to keep Caitlyn alive. She watches from the ER doorway as doctors force air into Caitlyn’s lungs, as her heart monitor flatlines, as they shock her back to life.
Vi doesn’t go inside Caitlyn's room. Maddie does. The fiancée. The woman Caitlyn chose.
Vi should leave. She should let go. But some things never stop moving, even when they should. Even light, when it’s close enough to the edge, can’t escape.
