He presses further into the younger boy’s space. “Let’s get one thing straight, Replacement,” he snarls lowly, and he knows his eyes are glowing an awful, predatory green. “I am very dead. And if I have anything to say about it, Batman isn’t ever going to be happy again.”
His face is tight with pain, but he’s doing a valiant job at controlling his ragged breathing, his blood a steady drip drip drip onto the tile between them. His eyes meet Jason’s unflinchingly, and Jason can see the green glow reflected in them. He expects begging, bargaining, even some of that trademarked Robin sass that Dick seems to have passed along with the mantle.

Summary
Tim starts his night trying to calm down a graduate student with a ray gun. He has no idea that he is part of a time loop.
Future Tim (which will be him in three minutes) won a second round of the Titans Tower fight and managed to put Jason on the path to coming home. Past Tim didn't do much other than think he was dreaming when he met a much calmer Jason. Future Tim decided that three minutes was plenty of time to figure out just get everything right and stabilize a time loop on the first try. No pressure.

“I’m not a good Robin. I’ve seen a good Robin. Joker killed him.” Tim protested.

Tim accidentally gets stuck in the elevator while trying to leave before anyone can coddle him and his cold, when the power goes out. Guess it's naptime.
Jason is just trying to teach the Replacement what it means to be a Robin. So where the hell is he?!?!

As the door opened Tim quickly disabled another three separate electronic sensors in the doorjamb by swiping them with a device that looked a bit like a thumb drive. “Walk where I walk,” he said.
He took a big step over the doormat, eyed the floor carefully, then took a careful skipped sidestep to another mat against the right-hand wall, where he removed his shoes.
“What the hell?” whispered Jason, still standing in the open doorway.
Tim pointed up. There was a net rigged up on the ceiling. “Pressure pads under the carpet.”
“I repeat, what the hell?”
After Tim completely derails Jason’s beatdown attempt by asking him for a hug, Jason’s first priority is to get this touch-starved kid more cuddles. Tim’s first priority is to avoid Dick’s traps.
Jason learns a lot about his brothers and what happened while he was away, and something about himself too.

Neither of them expect their trip to San Francisco to end the way it does.

“This is because he won’t kill the Joker?” Tim’s voice is a hoarse whisper, so soft he’s not even sure Jason heard him. Tim lifts his head, a steely determination in his eyes, and glares straight down the barrel of the gun. Suddenly, he’s struck by the petty, vindictive urge to just be mean, and if he’s going to die anyway, he may as well give in.
“You’re no better than he is.” He spits out, jaw clenched. For the umpteenth time that night, there’s a fresh bloom of pain on Tim’s body, this time across his cheekbone as Jason’s gun comes down hard against it.
“Don’t you dare compare me to Batman.” There’s fury in Jason’s voice, and satisfaction curls in Tim’s gut.
“I’m not.”

“Don’t leave,” the replacement whispers, looking scared and helpless and tiny. His eyes are watering. Jason needs to get out of here, like, yesterday. “Don’t leave me. I don’t wanna be alone again.” The kid’s lip wobbles, and Jason feels his resolve break. Fuck.
Okay. Jason steps closer to the bed, and the kid lights up with hope. “Who thought it was a good idea to leave you alone like this?” Jason asks. He’ll just stay until the replacement passes out, and he’ll wipe any evidence he was here so he’s nothing more than a strange hallucination come morning.
