Summary
Sometimes (most of the time, Shane has learned), the most effective way to pull Ilya out of his head is to take a very direct approach. Shane cuts him off by kissing him hard and long, relishing in the feel of Ilya’s soft mouth. The fading taste of cigarettes is almost indulgent now, though he’ll never tell Ilya as much.
Ilya shifts his body over Shane, tangling their legs together as they fall back onto the bed. He pulls back to look at Shane, and Shane knows he’s won the battle when a fond, helpless smile tugs at the corners of Ilya’s lips.
Ilya can't sleep and is feeling a little down. Shane is happy to help him out.

Summary
Shane is quiet for just a moment too long, and Ilya is about to question it, but Shane leans forward and suddenly kisses him. It is tender and careful, not like the eager and heated way it was the night before. Ilya leans forward, gently pressing his lips against Shane’s and tracing one hand up his back.
The slow pace is odd yet enjoyable, though entirely unfamiliar. Most of their kisses are frantic and hungry, both of them trying to devour the other in the brief moments they share. They usually kiss as a prelude to something more, or in between the bitemarks they leave on each other's bodies. There’s this frenetic energy they share that never lets them stop and slow down.
This is so different.
A fix-it fic where Shane stays at Ilya's after the "tuna melt and ginger ale" scene. This takes place the following morning and contains no spoilers for the books or TV show.

They don’t know what Henry is to him. Hell, Alex himself didn’t know what Henry was to him until very recently and is still uncertain of what they are to each other. He only knows that the idea of New Year’s Eve inspired a hopeless romantic side of him that he hadn’t known existed. All he’s certain about is this: He’s intent on spilling his guts tonight, he’s got a damn speech memorized, and he’s going to kiss Henry at midnight.
Of course, there’s no guarantee that Henry feels the same as Alex, or that they’ll end up officially together. Alex reminds himself - not for the first time - to keep his hopes light. He’ll gracefully accept any outcome. He won’t think about how this may potentially blow up his friendship.
He’s fine, honestly.
Alex and Henry are good friends who happen to enjoy sleeping together. It's all fine and good until Alex has The Grand Epiphany™ and creates a Big Romantic Plan™ to carry out on New Year's Eve.

Summary
Henry tilts down to bite Alex’s neck, increasing the pressure of his teeth this time. He feels Alex’s hands shoot up to grasp his shoulders, whimpering softly at the stinging sensation. Henry leans back once more and brings one hand to the base of Alex’s throat, pressing a thumb carefully against the hollow part. He locks his eyes with Alex’s before repeating his request.
“I want you to read to me,” Henry says, his tone firmer. He arches an eyebrow, feeling Alex swallow thickly beneath his thumb. Henry observes the way Alex’s pupils dilate as he nods his head in agreement, sitting up to find the discarded book with trembling fingers. He lays down and opens to the page he was on, but he’s caught off guard when Henry moves down his body.
“Go on,” Henry instructs, grabbing the hem of Alex’s shirt and pushing it up. He sees the moment when realization dawns on Alex’s face. Henry positions himself lower and hovers above the bare strip of Alex’s torso. He smiles as Alex clears his throat and begins reading in a shaky voice.
Or, Alex reads Chernow’s Alexander Hamilton aloud, but this simple task turns challenging when Henry poses certain distractions.

Over the following thirty minutes, you convinced me with your sharp tongue and sordid words about putting my mouth to good use. As you may recall, I suggested finding someone else to accost in a coat closet. Thankfully, you did not heed this advice.
I had no clue that our simple exchange would alter the trajectory of my life. Our private messages were taken from us, but the memories that stem from them remain untouched. The following weekend in Paris was like the strike of a match, creating a fire that burns within me to this day.
On March 3rd, 2020, Alex sent the first email of what would become The Waterloo Letters. The next day, Henry and Alex exchanged the first series of emails.
Alex sent his message with “Paris?” as the subject line; a few days later, their weekend trip to Paris occurred.
It’s the four-year anniversary of that life-changing event, and Henry reflects on his memories in a new email to Alex.
