My head lolls forward as my eyes flutter shut, going limp in Atsushi’s arms, who stumbled backward, his heels hitting the lip of the roof. Shock, concern, and other underlying emotions mixed up and banged around in his chest as he held Akutagawa.
Akutagawa and Atsushi had a mission, what happens after is less then pleasant. . . Well the old memories anyhow. The new ones, those, those are pleasant
(PS: I did update the current chapter and I have most of the last few written as of 4/24/2025, sorry for the longggg leap of not doing anything, a bunch of stuff happened and my obsession with the show has decreased significantly, which just makes it harder to write it but I'll try to update a new chapter)

Summary
“Asmodeus is dead.”
Both Sam and Dean jumped at Castiel’s sudden appearance in the car. He thanked his lucky stars that Dean was used to Castiel popping in enough that he’d stopped losing control of the car half the time.
“Jesus,” Dean said. “I’m never gonna get used to that.”
“What do you mean, Asmodeus is dead?” Sam asked, turning in his seat to look back at the angel, immediately freezing at the sight before him. “Holy shit.”
“Holy shit what? What happened?”
“By “Asmodeus is dead”, I mean that Asmodeus has been killed,” Castiel said plainly, conveniently ignoring Dean’s question. Sam couldn’t blame him, who would want to tell their lover that the guy who killed him a hundred times is not only alive, but lying half-dead in their backseat?

"For the love, for the laughter, I flew up into your arms"
Gabriel had no choice but to love from afar, he knew this. When it had become love, he wasn't entirely sure. After all, Sam was Lucifer's vessel. Gabriel should be quite literally anywhere else but in the young Winchester's head.
Sam didn’t like Gabriel, or at least he thought he didn’t. Sam wasn’t sure why he actually started to enjoy the company of the archangel, a stark contrast from the other angels he knew.
Neither of them felt as though they deserved a happy ending, they had too much to atone for. But maybe, just maybe, they could have even a moment of happiness, even if it couldn’t be for eternity.
