    Summary

    A series of one-shots that shift the context of the show away from just Scott's perspective, and show that a lot of other things that were going on in Beacon Hills.
    This isn't specifically anti-Scott, though since he's a dick at times in canon, he'll have those moments here too. So it may not be for everyone.
    It'll be anti-Stiles at times as well, since Stiles and Derek are going to have their asshole moments as well, just like in canon. My thought process was that there are questions that Teen Wolf never really answered, because they weren't relevant to Scott's story, and a lot of room for other things to have been going on, so I decided to play with some of those. This is not a rewrite of canon like most of my other works, but it's more of a broadening of the existing narrative.

    “Wait, Mr. Raiders fan,” Rozanov calls.

    Constable Sullivan pauses.

    “I get a phone call, yes?”

    “Sure.” He pulls out his own phone. “Do you know the number?”

    Rozanov nods. The numbers all come out in a rush, as though he’s memorized it in one long string and can’t think of any of them separately.

    It’s a Montreal area code, the constable notes, as he types it in. As the phone rings, he puts it on speaker and asks Rozanov: “Who is it?”

    “Shane Hollander.”

    “Fuck off. Who is it really?”

    Or: in the midst of the Rose breakup, the Raiders win a game in Montreal. Unable to do what he normally does after Montreal games, Ilya goes out to a club, gets super drunk, and ends up getting picked up by Montreal police for public intoxication. Sitting in a holding cell, the only number he can remember is Shane's.

    “My phone,” he says, dread pooling low in his stomach.

    Ilya sits up fully now. “You don’t have it?”

    “I left it on the beach,” Shane says faintly.

    The implications hit all at once.

    He’s missed his flight.

    And somewhere, buried in the sand in Tampa, his phone is still silent and unlocked.

    For years, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov have lived in the narrow space between rivalry and want, heated, familiar, and deliberately unnamed. The rules are simple: keep it quiet, keep it temporary, don’t let it become real.

    "You did not."

    "Okay," Ilya admits, kissing the curve of Shane's shoulder, "That was not my exact search."

    And he means that literally. Because his agent is the reason he’s currently wearing a hot mic during Hockey Night in Canada. Against the Ottawa Centaurs. Against Ilya.

    Ilya, who has no filter. Ilya, who thinks workplace professionalism is a hilarious suggestion for other people. Ilya, who has spent a decade perfecting the art of saying absolutely unhinged things to Shane on the ice, safe in the knowledge that nobody can hear him.

    Ilya, who definitely doesn’t know about the microphone.

    What follows is sixty minutes of Shane’s life flashing before his eyes while his secret boyfriend enthusiastically discusses their sex life, their broken furniture, and exactly what he wants to do to Shane after the game — all broadcast to millions of viewers.

    The problem? Shane can’t get a word in edgewise to warn him.
