“You did say it was for use before the wedding. But it's much too small to serve many people,” The curiosity is killing Tom. He won't push, but he wants to know what purpose this cake serves and why Adrien seems so worried about it. “What's it for?”
“I suppose it's only fair to let you know, too. And before I do this, Tom, I am sorry, but there's a reason for it and I will clean up any and all messes this entails.”
Tom cocks his head to the side, trying to puzzle out what Adrien could be talking about. Adrien, however, grabs a rolling pin from the counter. And proceeds to pulverize the cake with it. Marinette lets out a shriek.

On Tuesday, he was about to propose as Adrien when Sabine had called – her uncle had had a fall and was in the hospital. Marinette had been too worried for Adrien to pop the question on her then. Her great uncle ended up being just fine, though.
That Thursday he intended to ask as Chat, when they ended up on the same street they had first met as Ladybug and Chat Noir. But they got swarmed by fans before he could ask.
On Saturday he tried to ask as Adrien again, but Marinette had a work emergency and ended up having to sew three dresses over the weekend, leaving her little time to even interact with her boyfriend.
The following Tuesday Adrien glumly sat on the couch, staring at the ring box in his hand. “Plagg, are you causing me a lot of bad luck? Did I spend so much time as Chat Noir that I'm just unlucky now?”
