Summary
Sometimes, even if you’re already perfectly happy with your life, the Cauldron snatches it away from you and plops you down in a brand new one that you don’t understand.
Sometimes, even if your heart has been broken for centuries, the Cauldron throws a girl at you—metaphorically, but also sort of literally?—and you don’t manage to duck in time.
It’s all rather overwhelming.
But, if you give it time, you’ll figure out who you are, and how to love again. It’ll all work out in the end — it just might take a decade or two or ten.

Summary
Rules are simple. Black-and-white, fail or pass, succeed or be a disappointment.
Dain has always been drawn to their simplicity, just because life is so chaotic. Breaking life down into rigid rules was a survival mechanism that served him well. Up to a point. But while he’s let go of that way to live now, knows it destroyed most of his friendships and relationships, it lives on in certain parts of his life. As wingleader, he’s known to be hardass, a stickler for rules – but rules are there to keep cadets alive, so he won’t apologize for that.
The other place is in bed.
Which is what he is currently bending Sloane over.

Summary
At the end of the footrace, a young warrior is shocked to be alive despite attempts from the competition to take his life. But victory is not rewarded with a crown of laurels this time. In honor of the long-dead hero, the warrior is given a choice of three prizes.
One offers him immeasurable wealth, enough to pull his people from centuries of poverty. The second, a blade that would make him unstoppable in battle, virtually unkillable. The third choice, should he take it, would spark outrage. War, possibly. After decades of peace, would he want to be the one to begin the cycle all over again? He closes his eyes. He doesn’t know if it is weakness or strength that pulls him to his choice, but he chooses all the same.
Kore - epithet of the goddess of Spring. An alternate, possibly older name for Persephone, meaning simply “the maiden” or “the girl”. It has been theorized that ancient Greeks may have called the goddess this out of fear of drawing her attention with her true name.
A next generation of Prythian fic mixed with a healthy dollop of Greek mythology.
